Just read that the Euro is currently at .976 USD in currency markets this morning. I can't remember the last time when the Euro was this low compared to the USD.

Do come over, and let us know when. Make it next summer, so we can fly the open-cockpit planes smile

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

I was in Hamburg, Germany a few weeks ago on conference.

I have to say even then, the US to Euro conversion made things very cheap - even if I wasn't paying! (because business trip expenses were covered).

I am in Normandy exploring the beaches and museums, ( my father was part of the Invasion.) It is much cheaper now. Will plan on a driving tour down the coast of France, then Journey int Spain. Can’t beat the prices.!

That sounds like an amazing trip. I would love to go to Juno Beach. My Poppa was part of that invasion.

Me being an avid student and fan of the military history of the Classical world, Greece is absolutely on my bucket list of countries to visit.

A big factor in my ordering a Sim Gears ICP now was because of the current exchange rate.

I was on a call with some of my co-workers and one of them just got back from a trip to Europe and said the exchange rate was great, but that a bunch of US folks figured that out too and it was pretty crowded.

The Euro going below the dollar definitely helps. However, the gas prices here are ridiculous compared to the US. And because of this, everything else is expense. Food, electricity, heat, etc. I just paid 350 Euro for firewood this winter. To put it in perspective, the same amount of wood last year cost 160 Euro. People's gas prices have climbed almost 3,000 percent in some areas. So, while I love the dollar advantage, I would take a higher Euro without the inflation any day of week.

The US dollar is higher than the Euro. That is the only point of this thread. Nobody is traveling anywhere.

Don't you buy more in Europe with the dollar than with the Euro?

1 USD is worth 1.03 Euro... a c*nt hair.
Europe is in the mid of an energy crisis. They rely heavily on Russian oil.

The ignore feature doesn't seem to be working. But everyone knows a condescending, narcissist doesn't really "ignore". They pretend and still read the posts. hahaha

That’s enough already. You didn’t need to post in this thread, but chose to do it because of personal animosity.

A dollar won't get much in Europe, you will need to change it to the local currency (they don't all use the Euro although many do). neaner

It's more Russian natural gas than oil that some countries (especially Germany) relied on. Unfortunately, when they go hunting on the global market for replacement volume & are competing against the Chinese etc.its at the current, very high prices.

Alas, it didn't always used to be that way.

Anyway, if you guys can hold off for another year or two, you might get a free trip to Europe paid for by the government!

I lived in Europe for almost 17 years, mostly as a home base while in the military. Saw the dollar go from 4 marks to one euro. Loved the history and the food, politics not too much and we are headed in that direction way to fast. Headed for Iceland and Norway this Summer and Israel/Egypt/Jordan in the fall. But home will always be the mountains and forest of Idaho and Montana.

True. Grabbling low-flying fruit does equate with the German talent for comedy.
