recent discussions drove me to turn the carrier into another 100% model and use every byte available. More rigging was added, some pixelation on the hull was smoothed out, 3 machine guns were added to the aft balcony and an arrestor wire was added and probably I'll add one more for free. There's still polygons and nodes left so I'll see what I can do with those. Elevators are in the works too.
My excuse for the bad pictures taken with my crappy WinME computer with a 32MB gForce2 100/200 in a 4 times AGP slot, which only seems capable of 16 bits resolutions.
To remind people what a fully working 3D model with functional R/S looks like I had to rebuild this entire model from scratch to make it work, as it was a right mess.
It's now ready for a further upgrade to a 100% model:
A miraculous transformation from the USS_HECTOR to the HMS_HERMES, as in use in various older addons. The bow section changed to the older British carrier model and a bit of color was added to the life rafts to complement this version. Here it is in a quick adaptation of an off line shipping interdiction in EAWPRO.
Much appreciated RiBob. Work never ends as there's always something new one can think of, hence the full battle dress up of the Hermes which in the mean time has had a few further improvements after this version (added 2 anchors):
Hope to capture a few updated screenies this evening in our on line squirmishes and will replace this picture if there's a nice one.
