i will say this....this ai creating frame is not new. i know because early version of shadowplay, i used to capture games on my old 660 that could only run them at 48-52 frames, and yet the real time capture result was always butter smooth 60 frames, on the same resolution i was playing.

Eh I mean it ran flawlessly for me at 32:9 at 5120x1440 on ultra settings with a 3080 Ti FTW3...

I don't notice any difference with raytracing on or off.

DLSS 3 may have increase input latency. It is quite a bit different from DLSS 2. We'll have to wait for some detailed reviews to see how it performs. I am interested though.

The prices of these cards are out of control though. The RTX 4080 12GB is essentially the 4070. They just have a lot of excess inventory that they slapped the 80 moniker on it and bumped the price up. I hope AMD comes out with good cards, in good quantities, and triggers a minor price war.

That is likely why Nvidia raised prices so much. They won't lower prices on the 3***. The AIBs are loosing money by trying to offload inventory. I assume Nvidia's tactic of raising money is a partial solution to prevent even further losses on the part of AIBs. EVGA had margins of around 5% recently, and it looks like 10% is the norm.

Which will be very interesting when Nvidia releases the 4-gen and the warehouses are still full of 3-series cards. I'm hoping that could lead to some desperate sales.

i dont know how US stores work, but nvidia could demand stores to return 30 series with a discount for purchase of the 40 series, hence why they increased the prices.

I'm sure they can but they're not going to throw away GPUs. That would be a huge loss and Nvidia isn't ready to let that happen.

The 4*** cards will just be expensive, at the minimum for a while. The people who have the money or must have the latest will buy them. I am sure once the 3*** sell out the 4*** will see some reductions. Otherwise, the **70s used to be upper mid range cards. These days it is essentially mid range, but priced at $1000 USD? That is just a bit out of reach. If young people can't afford to get into PC gaming it won't be good for the hobby long term.
