Now that I'm retired I'm getting back into flight sims. Have been on a WWI kick, running both WOFF and RB3D (GoG version).
Now have the urge to drop into WWII and EAW. So first off tried to install EAW using my original CD. No go. The game seemed to install ok (folders created etc), but on clicking on the exe got the message:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microprose Software\European Air War\eaw.exe is not a valid Win32 application.
Tried re-installing several times, always the same message. No idea what it meant, couldn't find anything online regarding it. Just put it down to that EAW wouldn't install on my Win 7 computer.
So, thought I would give the GoG version of EAW a go. After all, the RB3D version works a treat.
Bought it, downloaded and installed it. Success so far. Made all the usual changes in the Configure section. Clicked on Instant action just to blow the cobwebs away and........bummer. Joystick not working. Hmmm. Went back into the Configure section, all the right boxes selected, gave it another try. Same prob. Immediately jumped into RB3D, everything working fine.
So, anyone, any suggestions?
Ooh, almost forgot. Joystick is a Microsoft Force Feedback 2.
System is a Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack One. Intel i5-2400 CPU 3.10GHz, 6 GB memory, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. I also have a glide wrapper installed.
