its always been weird to me why the US never tried to buy/borrow/lease/conquest that piece of land to increase its coastline territory.

I know English is not your native language Blade but I think the subject matter of this thread should go in PWEC anyway based on what little I understood.

And to answer your question, there was a formal treaty signed between the US and Mexico to end the war in 1848 so there were negotiations and hence compromises. This was not an outright war of conquest like what was the case with Germany invading the USSR in 1941.

He's talking about Baja California.

The answer is; one is enough.

This, anything more than Florida would just be weird.

we let paraguay exist, argentina wanted to divide the country between both.
uruguay has always been a friendly nation (they work as a buffer against argentina lol) but we did claim territory and gave back with uk moderation as our people were against the war effort, not enough soldier to push and conquest, and argentina and uruguay couldnt make any advances(so kinda we let them),
bolivia we fought and won, and claimed territory, honestly bolivians should be more pisssed at brazil then paraguayos, as that region is mineral rich, also to this day people still believe they exchanged this land for a white horse lol.
peru i will have to admit ignorance on their history with brazil

that was what i was looking for, thank you. but is still weird how after things calmed down, the country didnt try again to buy it. having a excuse to expand the coastline is something countries are always looking after.
