I fear the worst, that the family are going to get there before the announcement is made later.

BBC One cancelled schedule until 6 PM earliest.

I hope I'm wrong.

God bless her.

She has fought the good fight She has finished the race, She has kept the faith. Now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to her on that day—and not only to her, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

If Charles can be half the person as his mother ....all will be well.

Her picture was in every classroom I had. 70 years a Queen is an amazing accomplishment. She avoided scandal and controversy. She is a true lady. Much respect.

I wish her well.

Some of the news acting as she is already gone.

I am seeing several of this

https://www.indy100.com/news/what-happens-when-the-queen-dies

https://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a41117543/what-will-happen-when-queen-elizabeth-dies/

Charles will be King? No one in line to be the next Queen?

She has definitely handled herself with strength, grace and dignity far more than many high profile people in today's world. If she has passed, may God rest her soul.

Not surprising. Everything has to be sensationalized by the news media in order to get the mouse clicks, video views, etc.

Neither of those links imply she is dead. They both talk about what the aftermath will be.

From the palace:

"The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."

May God rest her soul. What a fine lady she was.

Were this the 14th,15th or 16th century we'd be in store for decades of filthy infighting, murder, subterfuge and backstabbing until the throne was once again secured by the slyest and craftiest of self-anointed successor.

She brought class to the crown.

When I posted that, the news was still saying she was at Balmoral and surrounded by family. Nothing about if she passed or not.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II

I think the Monarchy will lose a great deal of respect and admiration. Queen Elizabeth II was a very classy and likeable lady.
Prince Charles ? Not so much.

i will say for myself.....have a king doesnt have the same ring as having a ruler queen for so long, almost sound diminutive now. also if the kings die all we get now are consorts ?

I think the monarchy will continue for the simple fact that it's a huge tourist draw for the country and I don't see that changing based solely on there being a different monarch.
