Howdy all,

Trying to get back into sim driving time some more, now that things at the house are finally settling down!

I've noticed that with my latest modded out GPL install - I still quite a bit of graphics clipping. Especially on the Nurburgring track. Is anyone else playing this and seeing the same?

Haven't played GPL in way too long, so I won't be any help, but your post was unanswered so I am chiming in.

Actually, with how well my return to sim racing has gone I've been thinking of giving GPL another go, seeing what new stuff is out there perhaps, and hoping I might put a dent in my old lap times.

No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

How bad is it? I haven’t seen GPL Nurby in ages but if I remember correctly, some clipping was had. Do you run stock graphics or a modded graphics update, if you know?

I'm using the latest GEM+ 2 mods, with the OpenGL V2 video options. Nurb in particular is quite nasty looking indeed with all of the clipping. Sounds like I may just have to live with it. frown

Thanks gents!

Going from memory here so bear with me but I seem to remember that som graphics updates provided by the community while very pretty were producing more clipping than I was ready to accept. I seem to remember Monaco (which even had clipping unmodded), Mosport and Nurby were the most troublesome. You might try to check in the tracks/nurb folder if there is one single .dat file, or several discreet files. If the latter, this indicates a community mod is in effect and if that is the case you could try copying the original .dat file from the disc into the Nurburgring folder while moving the other files out of that folder. Should be a very straightforward process since GPL is fairly old and uncomplicated.

Thanks McGonigle, Monaco is also pretty bad... And the tracks indeed are modded from their stock by the GEM pack. A shame, otherwise such a pretty sim still!

My pleasure ArgonV. Come to think of it, I think the operation is even simpler. The original .dat file has not been changed by the mods so if you make sure only the .dat file resides in your track folder, Bob should be your uncle!
