I started playing again because it seemed to be about time, and suddenly this new patch drops. Now Horizons players have the tech (ie gfx, planet generation, etc) from Odyssey (but no on-foot). And of course, the big in-game event concludes. I'm not gonna drop a spoiler, but it looks like things are heating up with the Thargoids.
When you log in after the new patch, you get a video of the end of the previous storyline, that's all I'll say. I may just start doing some bug hunting.....
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

Thanks DB, not sure what I want to do about the Thargoids yet, but its good to have options!

I think that was my experience as well Panzer in the only encounter I've ever had with one.
I only briefly watched the new intro, is it now all-out hostility? What about unarmed ships?

No idea. I think a lot if it is still being sorted out by the community. I haven't personally done anything Thargoid related. I've been busy watching asteroids go boom. Kinda relaxing to fly through a belt, pop an occasional rock, and cash in. It also seems to me like finding them has gotten easier in Odyssey. At least they seem more evident to me than they did in Horizons.
