Dear Friends!

We are at mission number 92 and we are proud to say that it is another MiG mission, this time with the mighty MiG-21MF from 927th Fighter Regiment.

The base comes from one of the Wings over Vietnam stock missions, "Longest Day - Act I" and tells some of the facts that occured on May 10th 1972, also known as "The Bloodiest Day".

This one is the specific counterpart of the first sortie, performed by Navy's A-7 Corsairs II (here you will see the TW stock model" and F-4J Phantoms II (also TW stock). We added some new skins, skins objects and some

We decide to recreate the VPAF version in order to improve and enhance the game immersion, that's why we also make a custom briefing in true YAP style.

We hope you will like the pictures. New missions coming soon!

Dear Friends,

here's a brand new mission created by Diego Fabuel Garcia about some really interesting facts which happened in early 1964...

We will let the image and the briefing talk:

"In 1960 a former RTAF (Royal Thai Air Force) T-28 pilots. Lieutenant Chert Saibory, defected in Laos. Described by the US instructors as the “most aggressive” of all, he offered his services to commander Kong Le, but he was turned down.

Remaining in Vientianne, Saibory joined the RLAF (Royal Lao Air Force). Once General Phoumi returned to power he flew many combat sorties but was never promoted in rank.

For unclear reasons, in September 1963 he decided to defect once more and during an airshow that was to be staged over Savannakhet he flew his T-28 away from the rest of formation, heading to North Vietnam.

Instead of commissioning him in their air force the North Vietnamese imprisoned Saibory, Several months later his T-28 was refurbished and serialled “963”, in commemoration of the date when it was acquired.

The plane became the first operative fighter aircraft of the VPAF (Vietnam People’s Air Force) and despite it was basically a trainer, it was used for different purposes, even as a night fighter.

On February 16 1964, while patrolling the border between Vietnam and Laos, pilots Nguyen Van Bay and Le Tien Phuoc shot down an US C-123 Provider, which is considered to be the very first American plane downed during the Vietnam War.

All but one crewman died in the impact and the circumstances and the exact location of the downing are still uncertain."

We hope you will like the pictures!

Dear Friends,

among so many stories, there is one we always wanted to tell: the epic battle between Showtime 100 and Colonel Tomb.

This is the last of the "Wings over Vietnam" stock mission we have re-edited in YAP style, and it is called "The Longest Day".

Of the original 3 acts, we recreated seven missions, featuring the A-6A Intruder, the A-7B Corsair II, the F-4D and F-4J Phantom II, the MiG-21MF, the MiG-19S and Colonel Tomb's nr. 3020 Shenyang J-5, for the final duel against Duke Cunningham and Willie Driscoll.

These shots are from our favourite mission. We hope you will like the pictures!

If you like to find out more, please join us on Facebook. Thanks for your attention and support.

Dear Friends,

we hope you are all fine. Here are some pictures from our Mission Nr. 99 (including the training ones, so real number is 93...).

We read some amazing stories about F-102s firing Falcon missiles against trucks and campfires along the Ho Chi Minh trail at night, so here's our version: "Daggers in the night".

The mission is quite realistic and very hard to perform, because of a couple 51 mm gun emplacements which are not particulary pleased of our night visit...

We hope you will like the pictures!

Dear Friends,

happy Sunday to everyone! Here are a few shots from another new mission we made for the F-102A Delta Dagger, titled "Deuces vs. MiGs".

It takes places on February 3rd 1968 and tells the story of the only F-102 shot down by enemy aicrafts duringf the war, near the Laotian border at Sam Neua.

As you can see there also other planes patrolling the area and even a small rescue force with Skyraiders and Super Jollys.

For this mission we have adapted the only F-102A model available, but the cockpit is really outdated... even if functional.

If anyone has a better solution please contact us for further developments.

We hope you will like the pictures!

Dear Friends,

here's another "add-on" for our project: a tiny but absolutely iconic little plane which was not considered by the original YAP but which also cannot be forgotten.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the A-37B "Super Tweet" Dragonfly now in action with the brand new mission "Into the Cauldron", which takes place in April 1969 near the village of Bien Gia, South Vietnam.

To recreate this short buit intense CAS mission, we found really interesting info here:

https://www.defensemedianetwork.com/stories/the-a-37-dragonfly-in-vietnam/

We hope you will like the pictures, have a nice Sunday!

Dear Friends,

here are a few shots of YAP-RW first B-52D mission, created by our talented member Devin Horner, who also made the whole historical research.

The mission, titled "Maximum Effort", takes place on December 26th 1972 and represents one of the “Christmas Bombings” flown during President Nixon's "Operation Linebacker II", wanted to “create the most massive shock effect in a psychological contest. B-52s should be employed in the Hanoi area as close
as can reasonably be risked. Attacks must be massive and brutal in character.”

During the 8th night of bombing, the player's task is to hit the Hanoi railyards with 84 Mk82 500 lb bombs from 36,000 ft, in total darkness.

The mission is very immersive and also introduces some other interesting planes, such as the F-111A Aardwark for enemy airbase strikes and the A-7C, which represents Navy SEAD missions.

This is mission nr. 98 (nr. 104 including the training ones) so we can happily say we are almost done with Phase One!

Special thanks to Diego Fabuel Garcia for the BUFFS!

We hope you will like the pictures!

Dear Friends,

here are a few pictures from Mission 99 (105 including training): a brand new sortie with another unmissable aircraftt, non included in the original version of Yankee Air Pirate and freshly added by our project.

It's the Northrop F-5C and the title of the mission is "Skoshi Tigers", as the USAF evaluation program of this beautiful jet.

Taking off from Bien Hoa, South Vietnam, in the morning of October 22nd 1965, the player will have to reach the village of Ben Cat and help the friendly forces to fight back the attacking enemies with the help of an O-1E Bird Dog FAC.

We hope you will like the pictures!

Special thanks to Emre Mola and Diego Fabuel Garcia for the F-5C and to Karel Rodriguez for the O-1E VNAF Skin.

Dear Friends,

we are very, very, very proud and happy to share with you the first official promo video of the Yankee Air Pirate Revamp Works Project, which will be be used to promote the first official release.

The video, an idea by MAurizio Olmi, was made by Devin Horner using only in-games clips and a picture of John Shelton when he was a F-4 pilot in Vietnam. No speech, only music: the "Lacrimosa" by Mozart.

We hope you will like the video! Tell us what you think!

Thank you Devin Hornerfor your talents and time!

Dear Friends,

a few weeks ago we found some very old training missions made by John Shelton and others for the WOV Range terrain, featuring the Ryan BQM-34A Firebee drone.

Since we thought it was good to include them in our project, in the Training section, here are a few shots of these four missions and their re-edited briefings.

We also added a Lockheed DC-130A Hercules Director as the drone mothership.

We hope you will like them!

Dear Friends,

here we are. This is "Operation Arc Light", our mission number 100 and the last of Phase One.

This sortie has been written and programmed brand new by Devin Horner, who also made all the historical research. It tooks place on June 14th 1969 and, as you can see, the player will be in the pit of a Boeing B-52D Stratofortress from the 4258th Strategic Wing, with a payload of 108 Mk.82 bombs.

There will be quite a lot other aircrafts nearby, such as F-105Ds, F-100Ds, O-1E, O-2A, VPAF's A-1Hs and some other eye-candy little surprises.

We are just testing a few last things and soon the official version will be released, with 10 training missions instead of 6, for a total of 110.

We hope you will like the pictures! Many thanks to Devin for this final effort!

Dear Friends,

here are some pictures from another remastered mission for the Phase Two. It's "A Shau Valley Hobo 51" and we think it does not need any other description but the name of the pilot who flew it: Bernie Fisher, Medal of Honor.

If you don't know this name, here you can find some more info about that day, March 10th 1966:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_F._Fisher

Dear Friends,

here are a few pictures of another mission for Phase Two: "Midnight at Uong Bi" with the long awaited A-6A Intruder.

It is the night of April 18 1966 and you have to take off from the USS Kitty Hawk CVA-63 and follow your leader in the darkness to bomb a heavily defended thermal generator.

As the original briefing states, it would be "typically difficult" but you are flying the "Mini B-52", so take your time and hit the target with your 18 Mk.82 bombs.

We hope you will like the pictures!

Dear Friends,

we hope you are all well. While re-editing the '66 combat missions for Phase Two, we also revamped three original YAP models taken from the HeliPacks:

- UH-34 Choctaw

- OH-6 Cayuse

- CH-46 Sea Knight

Unfortunately, these helicopters do not have any mission to be flown, even if they are all flyable.

If someone would like to create some, we willbe happy to include them in the next release.

Dear Friends,

we are doing some minor maintainace works these days to our Thuds.

We noticed that not in all of them the extended refueling probe was visible from inside the cockpit. Now it is in all 4 variants:

- F-105D TDY
- F-105D
- F-105F Wild Weasel
- F-105G Wild Weasel

We also added a revamped version od the stock TW F-105D '66, visible in the last pictures. It is not as good as YAP's (it has no probe nor gun bay animations) but it is still nicve and useful for the next missions.

Now we have 5 different Thuds. We hope you will like the pictures!

Dear Friends!

We hope you are all well. We have been pretty busy while preparing something new for the next releases.

In the meanwhile, we have finished to correct all the F-105 Thunderchiefs of our arsenal (versions D, D '66, D-TDY, F and G wild Weasels) which are now available for download.

All lights, probes, sounds and other minor issues were fixed but feel free to test and tell us you you find something else.

Thanks to Luis Jose Boleas Remis for the "G" doubled centerline station note.

To use them, join or FaceBook Group: there you will find out how to get them!

We hope you will like the pictures and the planes.
