Hi all,
It's been suggested I should post models I've built of WW1 aircraft in 1:32nd scale.
Here's some shots of my recent build of the BE2c.
This model represents BE2c Serial No. 2635 of No.13 Squadron, RFC, operating from Savy in France during 1916.

My signature contains a link to my website where all of my models can be viewed. Most also have a full build log (in Adobe PDF format) which, if you're interested, can be downloaded.
These build logs contain all of the detailed build, including research material, modifications and corrections etc.
Just click on the relevant PDF icon to open/download the log.

Mike

That is amazing, especially the shadow of the roundels on the upper wing! How did you do that?

Thanks.
The base coat was airbrushed on the underside of the wings then the internal structure and roundels were masked off.
These were airbrushed with the required colour.
The masking was then removed and the base colour airbrushed over the details to knock them back and to merge them slightly with the base colour.
Finally a lighter colour was airbrushed between the internal structures to give the effect of light penetration from above through the wings,

Mike

How long did it take to install all of that rigging?

No need to say it but excellent modelling on all of your planes.

Thanks.
I think around 2 full days to complete all of the rigging.
It's all mono-filament (fishing line) of 0.08 and 0.12 mm diameter.
Attached to metal turnbuckles with 0.5 mm diameter blackened brass tubes,

Mike

“ Attached to metal turnbuckles with 0.5 mm diameter blackened brass tubes,” he says like it just a mundane thing.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.
