I have been helping Modred. He was having trouble. Because there appeared to be none I wondered if there was a curious problem re- a multiskin set for that plane..
However, I have now got one working with 7 different skins, so I think that we are on track again.
Life is becoming difficult due to cataracts in both of my eyes. I have an appointment in the next few days to start the process of fixing them. My right eye is particularly bad and I keep producing typos LOL smile

No, I have never found a multiskin set of the B24D on the net. This is also why I decided to make one.
I have to do even the missing planes yet. It will take a while.
I'm sorry about your cataract. I also had one and I was operated on. Everything went fine. You will see that it will be good for you too. biggrin

I think there are B17 sets. Certainly having a B24 set would be good - and useful for the Italian/Balkan theatre.

Sympathise about the cataracts. A couple of my friends have had to have them done. Good news is that seems to be a quick and routine process, with quick recovery.

There aren't any multi-skin B24's however there are D and J models in the Aircraft_Inventory ETO folder that have upgraded 3dz wireframes with much better rounded edges.

They are mapped the same as the old wireframes so there's no reason not to use them.

BTW, cataracts are God's way of letting old people continue to have sex.

Modred had sent me some multi-skin files for planes 1-7 that he had made which were not working. He also sent me his "Lucky Gordon" single skin files.
I fixed the headers in the multiskin 3dz.E and G files for planes 1-7 and made a test folder for AoE in 1.28C with the "Lucky Gordon" single skin files and my 1-7 E and G multiskin files.

It is working well and should act as a base for further extension by Modred wink

When you finish the set you should send it to Jel for inclusion in the 1.6 aircraft inventory.

Yes, a B-24 D (1943-4). Never published it because my posting was ignored. Still have it on a hard drive eaw 1.2x version, I also have a b-17F and G from the 100th Bomb Group, a B-26 556th Sqdn 387th BG plus a lot of other stuff for 1.2x. At Talley-Ho. Mr. Jelly did convert a large amount of my work for the later exe. I don’t know if it is still available from him.

Mike, can I get hold of that? Would be useful for the Balkan setup.

I have almost finished my B24 D. yep

As soon as it's ready, I'll make it available to everyone. biggrin

It is known that after the 16th plane other planes are duplicated.
This allows you to have more "nose art" and therefore you can see more different planes.
Example, in a group of 57 aircraft, the program randomly generates the nose art to use, then the base aircraft will be duplicated with different "nose art".
I hope I have explained.

bye

Moggy, I will edit the unit and send you a copy. Also I’ve got one squadron from every P-51 group in the 8th Air Force if you want them. 6 or so have never been published. I’ll send you a list of the skins not published. 👨🏻‍🦳
