Hopefully I can get an answer here before registering at some X-Plane specific forum
I have downloaded, via Ortho4XP, very nice satellite imagery overlay and detailed mesh for my local area. It looks great from 2000 feet AGL and higher. But only if I turn "number of world objects" to the bare minimum (off). Otherwise, ie just one setting above minimum, a couple of really annoying things happen. First, and worst, is that numerous flat tiles of little residential lots (house, yard) are plopped down along roads in areas I know there are not any houses. It also, in other areas, places these faux house over the top of the real houses shown in my high res satellite imagery overlay, it ruins the entire "I'm flying over the area I know" feel. If I set "world objects" to medium it even plops houses down in the bottom of a rock quarry near my local airport. Secondly are the trees, they're being generated in parking lots, on industrial rooftops etc. which looks ridiculous.
But with World Objects set to minimum there are zero trees around my home airfield and the 3D buildings on the airfield are gone as well. This ruins the taxi, take-off and landing aspect of the sim.
So whether I set the World Objects to minimum (off) or just one setting above minimum I am loosing an aspect of the flight experience.
Is there anyway around this? Can I have my airport buildings and trees in the local area without having houses lining country roads that have no houses and without trees popping up in parking lots and on rooftops?
