DBond, are you an educator?
Not in the accredited, clinical sense, no. But metaphysically I like to think so I finally bought Hearts of Iron 4 in the Steam Sale. This was to be a day-one purchase, and it took just six years to pull that trigger. I’ll be curious to read your thoughts on HOI 4 when you’ve had a chance to play it for a bit.

Is anyone else having issues with the Steam storefront main page not loading? The first time I ran Steam when the sale had started I could see the storefront like normal, window shop and search around like normal. However for the past two days every time I start steam, the storefront won't load. All I get is the Steam 3000 Summer Sale background and that's it. Just a blank empty wallpaper and no storefront. I've never had this happen before on Steam that I can recall. PC restarts, upgrading client, deleting cookies, right clicking storefront and clicking reload and so on, none of that fixes it. I can still do searches and get to game pages but not having the ability to navigate and explore like normal from the storefront and during a sale no less kind of stinks.

Based on the name I'm guessing it's some kind of WWI infantry simulator? edit: Just looked up some info on it. It's an MP PvP game. I have ZERO interest in that but thanks for posting the notice.

There's only one multiplayer RTS game these days: Supreme Commander Forged Alliance Forever ( www.faforever.com) I can't bring myself to play StarCraft again, not with that forced, claustrophobic zoom.

Stasis is currently free on GoG (isometric, point-and-click, sci-fi horror adventure).
May be of interest to some.

The irony here is that since these games are free there is no rush to play them since there is no urgency of playing something you paid for. that makes no sense, who plays because of urgency of spending ?

You've never heard of the expression "getting your money's worth"? If you spend $70 for a game you are less likely to just leave it uninstalled in your library for months without playing it but if you got it for FREE then there is no sense of urgency in using something that you paid good money for. Is that clear enough now?

One of the best games I have ever played--"Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl", I paid only 5 bucks for when on sale. I got my monies worth! I really enjoyed all the Stalker games but I think the best of the three was the last one, "Call of Pripyat".

I recall mission breaking bugs. I'm pretty sure those were fixed with later updates.

I'm thinking of finally trying out Just Cause 4 which I got for free from EPIC about 8 months ago. LOL
The irony here is that since these games are free there is no rush to play them since there is no urgency of playing something you paid for. I hear you, my steam backlog is in the hundreds now, Epic must be above 10. But then I have sims or franchises installed for 20 years continuously (IL2 and Falcon, Arma serie, Racing games), doesn't help to move to other games.
