Good sale on Steam.
AMS2 is twenty bucks, rFactor 2 is nine.
I picked up all the DLC for Assetto Corsa I didn't have for ten dollars. I only had Dream pack 1 so that's pretty good for all the rest. I don't drive it much but my son likes it. He said I didn't have the drift DLC and now I do. I think. I must.
rFactor2 put none of the DLC on sale so I skipped it. Too bad, I might have snapped some stuff up if they did.
Is WRC 10 a good rally game to get? The reviews praise the career mode and I think I'd like that.

Thanks. Which one is the consensus top dog?
I have no rally sims so any one I get would be new and how far it has evolved won't be apparent to me with no history in the genre.

Got WRC 10 last year on PC shortly after the release. Prior to that I played WRC 8 on my PS4 some years ago.
The game has a really extensive career mode which allows you to progress through the classes depending on your results. Mixed in are manufacturer try out events which will allow you to get some rep and will eventually lead to an offer to drive for other teams in another class.
On top of that WRC 10 comes with an anniversary mode which lets you drive through the different WRC areas with the iconic cars from that timeperiod. If I remember it right it starts in the early 70´ s and you need to reach a specific time on a stage with that car to unlock the next car/stage combination. It isn´ t exactly easy and needs some serious seat time, but it is very rewarding to do.
There are different multiplay options, clubs and timetrials. Didn´ t test any of this during my driving though.
The beast feature of the WRC games are the stages in my opinion. They are extremely detailed, narrorw and twisty depending on the area of course.
Time is the only luxury.

Thanks Frank. Yeah it looks like fun, and of course I like career modes.
Dirt Rally 2.0 also looks good. Is that the the same as Dirt 2 that rollnloop mentioned?

Yes, Derek. That is the one rollnloop mentioned.
For that price Dirt 2 is really a no brainer. ;-)

OK thanks. Maybe I'll pick that one up too. Get both of them. What the hell, I'm on a roll. iRacing's on sale too. Just three dollars off lol, but it's on sale. Maybe if the 33% applied to the monthly stipend I'd take this plunge.... Has anyone tried Motor Town: Behind The Wheel? I put it on the wishlist a while ago to keep tabs on it and just wonder if it's fun to play? https://store.steampowered.com/app/1369670/Motor_Town_Behind_The_Wheel/

Sale ends today. I also picked up WRC 10 and Dirt Rally 2.0
Gave WRC 10 a go and had some fun, but it seemed to knock out my FFB. Seriously, I switched to a couple other sims and it was all messed up. I re-plugged but same. Maybe the overnight shutdown and reboot will fix it.
I also hate navigating the menus on PC in WRC 10. What's the trick here? Why can't I just click on stuff with the mouse?

Yes it's a complete mess. So bad in fact I sort of don't want to drive it. The ironic thing is it's probably perfect with a controller.
The driving's fun though. I have your times in my friend's list. Probably Wango Tango too who also drives this but he hadn't driven the same stages yet I don't think.

It's time once again for the Steam Summer sale and there are a lot of good deals in racing sims.
Assetto Corsa is $3.99 Assetto Corsa Competizione is $13.59 Dirt Rally 2.0 is $4.99 AMS2 is $15.99 rFactor 2 is $6.39
Lots more
I think all these sims have their DLC marked down aside from rFactor 2 which again didn't include their DLC in the sale.
RaceRoom ran a sale a couple weeks back and does not appear to be discounted for the Steam Summer Sale. Base game is free however, and all the paid cars can be test-driven for free!
