Been at this for more than a year and now that it's nearing completion real world events have taken some of the fun out of the project. However, we soldier on in virtual world.
The original idea was to make some aircraft for Moggy's Balkans campaign but as I went along there was a lot of mission creep so the end result was much more comprehensive than first planned.
Most of the models come in winter / summer camo and they also have individual aircraft markings.
So, with the completion of the Eastern Front project, using my pre-made planesets, you can now fly from aircraft from 1938 to 1951 in all sorts of combinations across much of the world, some historical, some semi-historical and some "flights of fancy".........or you could build your own, it's not hard to do.
Here's a bunch of screenshots. Believe it or not this is only about 2/3 of the planes in the new pack -
The dive bomber version of the P-51 would have fit right in to the low level air combat of the Eastern Front. This one has the Douglas Gun Pack that was experimentally fitted to just about every fighter in the US inventory. -

These models work for a quasi-Korean conflict with the Russians replacing the Axis powers. Sort of a 'hot" cold war based in Europe.

Yes, there are some "what-if" planes in the Cold War mix. Mainly to even out the available planes for both sides but also because I like the "what-if" category.:-)
