After watching some reviews I caved in and bought it... the detail is just amazing.

USA (transplanted Scot)
The classic Willy’s Jeep reminds me of a staff visit to the huge US depot at Burtonwood, Lancs, back in the late 80s. They had warehouses with such jeeps in racks 4-high, 4 full MASH field hospital packups, rows and rows and rows of 6x6 2.5t trucks (deuce-and-a-halfs), etc etc etc.

The REFORGER concept was that in an emergency, lightly-equipped US Army troops would fly over to the UK, pick up their heavy kit at Burtonwood, then head over to the continent.

Heard that after the end of the Cold War they disposed of most of this kit. It was said that the jeeps couldn’t be sold-on because they didn’t meet modern road safety standards, so they were all cut in half and sold as scrap metal.

Did the last REFORGER back in 87. Not sure if the name is completely appropriate.

This looks more like an updated Operation Flashpoint to me. Which isn't a bad thing.

I am considering breaking down and buying it just to pretend to put on the old BDUs again.

Is this an Arma expansion that is similar to Operation Flashpoint? I loved OFP. I never played a lot of Arma. I've got new PC components so perhaps I should try it again but I prefer the cold war era depicted here over the more modern Arma III setting.

Yes, I'm the same... I had all the OFP stuff, and went on and got all the Arma games as well, but the cold war era was always my favourite.
Sadly this isn't a true Arma expansion.

All info about Arma Reforger at a glance:
Arma Reforger has been in development for 5 years.
It is completely based on the new Enfusion Engine.
Reforger has various game modes which can be customized by players.
Arma Reforger serves as the basis for the ongoing development of Arma 4.
The map is meant to invite exploration.
Arma Reforger has 2 game modes at launch.
There is no single player at launch apart from a tutorial, but you can use the 'Gamemaster' mode to make your own SP battles.
Arma Reforger is the first game in the series to be released on console (Xbox Series).
Modding support is the focus of the new Arma.

A couple more screenshots from the opposition this time...

Thanks for the info Trooper. I used to love making my own missions in the OFP series so maybe this would be fun to try.

Went thru Reforger three times while stationed in Fulda, West Germany '87-'90. Good times.
