Resuming my recon wars campaign flying BEs out of Hesdigneul, I'm suddenly seeing areas of pyramidal geography near the airfield. This definitely wasn't like that, the last time I was here, a few real weeks back. Most unsightly.

Disabling mods, updating from 1.25 to 1.27, and reducing my terrain setting from 5 to 1 then back again didn't help. The only change since noticing this is that I'm booting into Win 10 instead of 7 - which did lead to drive letters being reassigned, but I'd have thought resetting things in Workshop would have ensured the right settings were used.

If it wasn't there before, and suddenly is, something else changed. MODs, hard disk corruption or something.

We haven't changed terrain mesh in WOFF.

I just flew at Hesdigneul there and no pyramids anywhere at all.

Well, I'm back to normal. At some point I somehow or other managed to move the mods folder and JSGME, lock stock and barrel, into the OBDWW1... folder from the WOFF folder. So when I enabled mods, they were buried a folder too deep. I don't see how this affected the mesh files as the mods in question were the combined facilities ones and skinpacks, but all's well that ends well. No more Pyramids over Flanders Fields - I'm back surveying from aloft WoFF's timeless and rather lovely rendition of rolling fields, woods and low hills - thank goodness.

Glad to see that the terrains look nice and smooth again Lima. Those who have loaded any of the Xjouve terrain meshes (that are available under the relevant threads) - may see occasional pyramid-type structures, or indentations, because those terrain meshes try to follow more closely actual (geographical) undulations, unevenness, etc., of front line areas. Having said that, CFS3 sometimes does strange things with terrain meshes that are perhaps too improved over typical, flat terrain that CFS3 code is best at rendering.

Cheers all and smooth terrains to you,
Von S smile2

~ For my various FM/AI/FPS/DM Mods. for First Eagles 2, WoFF, RoF & WoTR, and tips for FlightGear, recommended is to check over my CombatAce profile (https://combatace.com/profile/86760-vons/) and to click on the "About Me" tab while there. ~
