What is a nerdy person?
A nerd is a person seen as overly intellectual, obsessive, introverted or lacking social skills.

As an Ohio resident, I don't have a problem with "Nerdiest State" -- seems like a complement. At least by the foregoing definition, I'm a full fledged nerd. biggrin

I guess "Highest Library Usage" goes along with "Nerdiest". smile

I’ve lived in other states where there were a LOT more dumb people than here. I’m not saying we’re anywhere close to the top of the intellectual mountain, but we’re not quite at the bottom either.

As far as the least violent crime, that’s kind of weird given what passes for social thinking these days. We own a LOT of guns in Maine and it’s a poor state with a pretty big drug problem. According to those conditions blood should be running in the streets, but murders are rare and even property crimes are pretty low.

These days it's not politically correct to say but Maine's population isn't exactly racially/ethnically diverse so that goes a long way in keeping the level of racial tension low. The State is also relatively sparsely populated.

For comparison:

ENTIRE state of Maine: 1.3 million

My COUNTY (Miami-Dade County): 2.9 million

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Puerto Rico.

Let a non American citizen tell you that PR is a Territory not a State.

Other USA Territories are Guam, US Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Midway Atoll, Palmyra Atoll, Baker Island, Howland Island and Jarvis Island.

Yup, and there are quite a few explanations behind those IQ differences. Some of those explanations are factual but also politically incorrect to mention.

According to patterns in that chart IQ should be through the roof in Canada and northern Europe. We're a buncha dumb sun-swillin' 'Mericans, the closer we get to the equator.

There's also a VERY strong correlation between those IQ numbers and per capita income. Which State currently has the highest per capita income? That would be Connecticut. The lowest? Mississippi.

As a wise song writer once said, "it's those changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes"

I'm also certain that IQs drop on average of 20 points when getting behind the wheel of any motor vehicle.

Combine smartphone usage with driving and on average IQ drops about 50 points.
