The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

Excellent vid Rick, many thanks for doing that! A couple of things that would be worth a mention the next video, or if you ever edit it; After install, installing the latest download, as it's important for the fixes and new features such as Recon Wars etc. They can always look in the WOFF BH&H II FAQ has step by step for installing and updating too. Minor one around 5.00 timeline, when the pop up appears to choose a squadron, you can press Esc to quit that squadron choice. 26.15 ish, even if you decided to have other buttons for separate firing control, you can of course still have a button bound to ALL guns to fire both rather than holding two buttons down. BTW Version 1.27 will have a revised WOFFKeys / Function Bindings program and we have already added an option when exiting to asks if you want to save (if changes were made) .

Nice! Yeah, I knew I would miss stuff, but this should at least help some people down the road a bit...

Thanks for the helpful video, Rick. I even learned something new: the Target Range setting. Since forever, I have had this set to "Historical" without thinking about how this may affect mission length. Since I don't have a lot of time to fly long-distance missions, I think I will experiment with setting this to "Always Closest" at least for now. Regarding AI skill levels, I personally recommend setting "AI Reduced Vision" to "On". When set to "Off" the AI can see you through thick clouds. "Off" may also give the AI "eyes in the back of their head," so they are more likely to detect you sneaking up on them. I'm not sure if it influences the AI's ability to see you from a long distance, though. I think it does, but I'm not 100% sure. Regarding the always mysterious "AI Enhanced Skill Levels" an old thread found here: https://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4256889/1 may help clarify things a bit. As Pol briefly explains in the thread, this setting actually determines whether the AI's morale will influence their willingness to engage. Setting this to "On" means the AI will ignore his own morale setting, making him more likely to attack and less likely to leave even when he has low morale; while setting this to "Off" means that an AI pilot with low morale will not want to engage you and will run away at the first opportunity. An alternative explanation is that setting this to "On" will give a morale boost to the AI, making him a little braver and more reckless. In any event, if I may be so bold, I would suggest that OBD change the name of this setting to something like "AI Enhanced Morale" or "AI Morale Boost." I think that better describes the button's function, at least in my opinion. Hope that helps.

Nice job Rick. Very informative and easy to follow.
Teaching flight in this era should be basic and very simple. These planes were difficult to fly and required constant input as no form of trim was available. So in keeping with the atmosphere that WOFF has always created, the information should be limited to books, advice and lots of stick time. You had a short ground school, then flew 2-Seat trainers with an instructor yelling at you over the sound of the engine, then more ground school and so on.
A newcomer should do just what a real WWI pilot did. Stick with Recon Wars to learn how to fly, then move into fighter squadrons to learn how to fight.
I'll say I really do feel that way with Recon Wars now. You can definitely live the life of a pilot that flew early war and made it to late war fighters.

The same thing also applies to the Workshop "AI Damage Affects Skill" setting. A better label for this setting might be "AI Damage Affects Morale," with an AI pilot whose plane has been damaged being more likely to try and disengage instead of fighting on. An unresolved question at this point, though, is just how much damage does it take to trigger this effect? In any event, playing with different combinations of these settings, along with "AI Never Backs Down" might make for interesting differences in AI behavior. Therefore, if you have become bored with the behavior of the AI, try changing one or more of these Workshop settings. Personally, I think I will try turning "AI Damage Affects Skill (Morale)" from "On" to "Off" in my future campaigns to see if this makes the AI more aggressive or not.
