While trolling for enemy brigs, we chased an armed Merchant up and down the island channels. following the enemy ship the HMS Pinafore stuck a sand Bar and shell fire from a hidden Battery came running down. We lost the for mast during the second 6 gun shelling. Amid the Chaos I signalled the for the HMS ELL to gives us a tow.. Free of the sand Bar my proud Frigate was towed back to base.
