Poor guy. What a great career and life he made for himself and for it to end it like this. Aphasia is usually a beginning of Alzheimer. No one should die like that.

I looked up "Aphasia" and it seems that the major cause of this condition is prior head trauma/injury.

I wonder how many NHL and NFL players have suffered from this.

Any contact 'sport'.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Many British soccer players, mainly older, who headed the harder/heavier balls of the time have developed this condition.

Retired Rugby players have so many injuries and conditions that Aphasia would be masked under the multitude!

I'm at the age now (72), that old forgotten sports and accident injuries are coming back to haunt me!

Just to be clear, aphasia which is what Bruce Willis was diagnosed with is not the same thing as Alzheimer's.

Yes, BD-123 I thought of Rugby players. They probably top the list. What they put themselves through with very little protection.
Red2112, Sorry to hear about your father, that is awful.
Brain injuries/disorders are awful and cruel.

I never said It´s the same thing, although the OP mentions It on the first post. As you seem very well Informed, I´ll remind just In case, that people with Alzheimer lose there hability to talk/communicate with others In there final stages. It´s a total lose of memory, thus one forgets HOW to talk, eat, stand up etc. So, there Is a part of this disorder that people with Alzheimer also experience.

Thanks @Wango Tango.

I know what is like to lose your Father, Watch them fade away. My Dad died in 1995, he was only 48. Cancer. Not trying to make this about me. Still think of him every single day. I only remember the good things, for the most part.

I`d be curious to know scrolling down imdb`s Bruce Willis` filmography page what you older folks consider his best 5 films.

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000246/

Many I have not seen.

Die Hard is always number 1.

Sorry to hear that Wango Tango. Two months after loosing my father I lost two uncles, and two years later my mother with Covid. As I told my girlfriend once, you don´t know what It Is to lose your parents until you do so, and loosing someone Is not the same as loosing your parents either.

No I don´t want to make this about me either, but I find It funny how some people react to things like this when It happens to someone famous. This Is something that happens every day to every day people, but they sure wont make a post about It, specially If it has nothing to do with them.

Yes, we really don't know what struggles people are actually dealing with. Addiction and mental health issues have hit my family very hard over the last few years. It doesn't make for fun conversation.

I actually remember (showing my age here) Bruce Willis in the role that started his success. He played David Addison in the TV series Moonlighting with Cybil Sheppard in 1985. His character's smart aleck humor was great.

I remember that show being hugely popular. I never watched it though. I was a teenager and spent most night out of the house.

"Moonlighting" is still very much a well remembered show. It was a huge ratings hit in the late 80's.

He also was the first guy to make the bald (shaved) head look acceptable (and some preferred) to woman. He helped save many a man who suffered from male pattern baldness. biggrin

A lot of 80's TV does not hold up.
