Found this wealth of old time radio shows, mainly spooky and Sci-Fi stuff but It´s entertaining to hear while your doing stuff. It´s how it use to be back then when not everybody had a TV.
I have recently gotten into listening to old radio shows myself. SiriusXM has a channel but it's on demand features are lacking. But YouTube has an abundance of programs. I have found listening to old episodes of Gunsmoke to be quite relaxing. I listen before I fall asleep. Old Time Radio Archive
i was never much of a radio guy, but one thing i miss from old radios from when i was a kid is the static that acompanied it. either from the siginal itself or the switching channels/;stations, i would just let that on while i sleep.
Back in the late '70s KVOO radio out of Tulsa used to run old radio shows every week night. At 9:30 it started with Mystery Theater, then Gunsmoke, and last was Fibber McGee and Molly. A couple of years ago I found a website with old shows on it, and listened to the entire run of Gunsmoke. Love the old radio shows!

I'm a little too young to have caught The Goons live, but I have a few of the vinyl albums cut from the recordings. It must have seemed like a new age when Spike Milligan et al began to share their insanity
"They might look the same, but they don't taste the same."
Spike was at it during his stint in the Royal Artillery during WW2. Reading his war memoirs you can see the beginning of the 'Goons' start to form. He put on many shows for the troops, coming across Harry Secombe in the process. He met Peter Sellers after the war.
I'm a massive SM fan but I will say that not all his stuff was funny. I found 'Q' the TV series a bit hit or miss at times. Maybe it was funny to him

Jeez, I was born in 1972 and I don't think I've ever listened to any scripted show on the radio. In fact, I haven't even listened to the radio for music for close to 10 years now.

The sponsors (ad´s) are great to hear too. There are radios that still offer similar shows like soap operas, detective story´s etc. in some countrys.
