And it gets some badly needed factory upgrades.

If only FN had seen fit to incorporate these improvements years ago, then they probably could have kept it in production.

The High Power remains one of the best handling pistols I've ever used.

Nice! Getting rid of the magazine disconnect should really help clean up the trigger pull.

Or more commonly called the Hi-Power.

Great pistol. I have two of the originals.

Anyone else getting tired of plastic framed pistols?

The Browning 9mm Hi Power pistol was my service pistol. I used it, and taught it to others for years... The British Army got rid of it for the P226. Good to see it getting an upgrade!

This new model is also rated for +P ammo, which is another notable improvement over the somewhat fragile originals.

This is what makes me sad... I was a weapons instructor in the army. All my adult life I've been around, used , taught, lived, eaten and breathed all kinds of weapons... but now, out of the army and living in a country that doesn't allow you to own a bag of crisps in case it hurts you, can't even go to a gun club and fire anything but .22 calibre... I'm not able to continue my abilities or use my knowledge to any effect.

Signed... a pissed off paratrooper.

I never was not tired of them. They've always been boring to me.

No full bore clubs/ranges near you?
How about volunteering with one of the cadet forces?

I like what FN is doing with the High Power versus what Springfield Armory is doing with the SA-35. https://www.springfield-armory.com/sa-35-series-handguns/sa-35-handguns/

Of course, the price difference is not surprising, either. Maybe sometime down the road...

I KNOW! As a true FN FanBoi I got excited about this... (was already eyeing the SA SA-35) and of course it is a mere $1300 Ha
Well maybe I won't jump out there and get it. But I do know that the FN build quality will be stellar. Plus 17 rounds!

I just saw where the SA-35 was named the NRA 'Gun of the Year'
