Hello all, been a while since my last post (4 years hah!)

When revisiting the old MSFS 83' I was inspired to show how much has changed!

What was your first simulator?

I like the way that video was cut, and the way the music fit in. And yes, we've come a long way! I did a video similar in concept a few years ago, showing my first combat simulator (Microprose F-15 Strike Eagle on my Atari 800), and comparing it to the F-15 in DCS, just because I found the differences so amazing.

As for my first flight simulator, it was this:

That was excellent.

My first PC sim was Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, back in 1991/92.

Its good to hear from you EnvyOnTheCoast. I always remembered your videos. I really liked this one too. So well done that it seems like it should be a Microsoft commercial. My first Microsoft Flight Simulator experience was MSFS 5.0.

Cheers Coot, and thanks everyone. Glad the video is well received!

The visuals of MSFS 5.0 were simply stunning at the time! I remember the "photoreal" gauges blowing me away...!

Great video mate...loved it.

This was also my first! My dad got it for me when I was 11. Learned much of my first English from reading the manual. Amazing what they could fit on a 3.5 disk back then!

Nice comparison video.

My first flight sim was probably Gunship on the Atari ST by Microprose.

Wow, another Atari ST user - we're a rare breed! biggrin

I grew up in Alaska, where nothing of significance happens, and would always read about the cool stuff Atari would show at COMDEX, the big computer show in Las Vegas. When I moved to San Diego, I was only a 6 hour drive to Las Vegas, so I had to go for a COMDEX when I got the chance. I went to one in 1988, and was jazzed that I went to that one because it's when they showed Falcon for the Atari ST for the first time. I was salivating for that for months until it finally became available. I loved that game, and played it all the time. At the time, that version and the Amiga version were the best versions of Falcon on the market.
