For some reason or another 40k Space Marine didn´t get the love It deserves. Personally I had a lot of fun with it and think It´s a very good FPS game, If you add the lore and you like the 40k universe then even more. They tried to revive the Warhammer FPS genere with Space Hulk Deathwing, It flopped on launch, then the enhanced version came out and fixed a lot of Issues, but for some reason I personally didn´t like it to much, just to many swarms for me, but must add that the atmosphere was quite there and cool. Still It didn´t click like Space Marine did for me.
Let´s hope this second serving Is more like the first Space Marine. For PC, PS5 and Xbox. Developed by Saber Interactive, published by Focus Entertainment...

I like Deathwing but I have a problem with the "teleport back to base to regenerate your crew" mechanic. I could not decide if this was a legitimate mechanic of the 40k/Space Hulk universe or not. To me it felt like a crutch, and I kept trying to play through the game without this mechanic which proved to be impossible.

I reinstalled Deathwing Enhanced and Space Marine (Anniversary edition) so I can revisit them again. I am also thinking of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 as this was a lot better then the first Instalment and should give it another go.
@Blastman I am not really that worried about authenticity at this point. There was a time when I was (flight sims), and In some cases I still do but In a games like these I just look for the fun factor. Never played any of the Warhammer tabletop games so again I am not to worried about those Issues. If it was Blood Bowl then maybe

The original Space Marine was awesome. I even played through it a few times over the years. Seems like the best shooter to come out of the 40k universe.
Deathwing had a many missteps, but those environments were awesome.
Then there was Eternal Crusade. It was supposed to be a multiplayer version of Space Marine, but with Orks and Chaos Marines added in. Sounded awesome but failed hard. The folks that made Planetside should take a whack at something like this.
Necromunda also had great environments, but the animations, gameplay, story, voice acting were all between average at best to poor.

Agreed.
I really want to like Necromunda Underhive Wars, so sometime I´ll give it another try. Never tried Necromunda Hired Gun though which Is the most recent shooter. I also enjoy Space Hulk Tactics, although not much love out there for it either. Kind of unbalanced me thinks, but It just might be me. Space Hulk Ascension was a lot more difficult then Tactics though, at least for me.
It seems that the team behind Vermintide are the one´s In charge of Darktide. Vermintide Is a lot of fun so we might have something cool come up with Darktide. Down side is that it´s only MP, same as Vermintide (I and II).
