I watch WWII-era footage pretty much on a daily basis but this one caught my particular interest.

I can't even fathom the tense atmosphere surrounding this meeting when you consider the desperate strategic situation at the time for the Allies. The German Army was running rampant in southern Russia and were driving towards the Volga, the Germans and Italians were advancing on Egypt after the fall of Tobruk just two months earlier and the U-boats were currently enjoying their latest "happy time" in the Atlantic.

Fascinating stuff Panzer, thanks. I'd forgotten he'd visited the Soviet Union.

*edit* I'm sub'd to many excellent YT content creators that put out high quality WW2 videos.

In my opinion, a lot of it is much better than commercial efforts and certainly is more frequent.

To me, TV is dead, long live YT! smile
