The movie was a stereotypical bombastic and overblown action-movie with the patented Hollywood high degree of unrealism as Herman mentioned.
Heck, even the recent "Midway" movie from Roland Emmerich of all people was a much better film than this dross.

Haven't watched it yet and probably won't if the reviews are correct :-/ Anyway YT indicates the movie is only 71min in length, really?

I have not watched it and doubt I will. I think all Hollywood war films are terrible. The best ones I have seen in recent years were all foreign language ones.

I have not watched it and doubt I will. I think all Hollywood war films are terrible. The 1980's was really the last decade that Hollywood consistently made well-thought out and largely historically accurate war movies in my opinion. Films like "Platoon", "Full Metal Jacket" and "Glory" fall in this category.

The Longest Day and 12 O’clock High were also very very good.
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

The Longest Day and 12 O’clock High were also very very good. The Longest Day is truly a gem. Not only was it overwhelmingly accurate but it also had 4 different perspectives on D-Day AND it used all of the correct and relevant spoken languages.

I should have clarified I meant more recent Hollywood war movies. They just don't appeal to me, although I thought 1917 wasn't too bad and Dunkirk (2017) was just about passable.

"The Bridge over River Kwai" is one of my all time favorites. A very good film and it unjustly often gets criticized for portraying a sanitized version of what it was like to be in a Japanese POW camp during WWII. I guess those critics forget that the film came out in 1957??? There's no way that a realistic portrayal of what actually happened in Japanese POW camps would have made it past the censors.

Only 71 min? Wow, it felt like forever to me. IMDB reports 1h31m . So maybe something is missing? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6048922/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
