First off, compliments again to the devs, the latest patches (1.17 & 1.18) seem to make this already World Class sim run more smoothly, and look better than ever.
Now, my admittedly rather minor issue. I have one universal TrackIR configuration that I use for all sims, including First Eagles 2, Strike Fighters 2 (with multiple versions of each), IL2 1946, IL2 Cliffs of Dover, etc etc. WOFF and WOTR too of course. I have tried having multiple TrackIR configurations, but have been very frustrated with the process and results.
With all but the latter two sims, my universal TrackIR lateral slew limits work (or I’ve edited them) so that at full left- or right-look, I can just make out the tail of the player ac at the edge of the screen. That’s quite realistic in my view, just try strapping-in with a 6-point harness then looking over your shoulder!
With WOFF on the other hand, at full left- or right-look I can just about see the tip of the _opposite_ tailplane at the edge of the screen. This implies that the virtual pilot can swivel his neck like an owl. Useful in a dogfight, but not terribly realistic.
So my question is whether there is a “pilot view lateral slew limit” parameter tucked away in a file somewhere in the WOFF folders, that can be edited to limit the virtual pilot’s neck to a more human-like performance?
Thanks
Mike
