Good evening!

Using JGSME I have installed, both by Jerbear, User skins V4 and more skins V1.

Am I right to assume that these additional skins will make an appearance in my future campaigns? I haven't noticed any enemies using any of these skins yet -would it be Aces only who use these new skins?

ORr is it that I need the Skin name fixes patch too?

Any help would be appreciated.

PS: This is the most exhilirating FLight sim I've played since Knights of the Sky as a young teenager!

I recommend both. Jerbear's skins pack add extra skins, while my skin name mod renames some misnamed skins so the game finds them. Both increase the odds of you seeing the skins in the campaign.

Thank you for your reply.

May I ask, is there a particular order for these to be installed in JGSME or a particular mod that shoould be activated last?

Best guess would be to install the additional ones first then the renaming one, but I’m not sure if the renaming mod corrects Jerbear’s too

Most JSGME mods come with instuctional "Readme" files. Look for it and read it as it will tell you the order of activation

One thing I would add is that I have noticed that when I meet an enemy unit to which I have added skins they are only used by the campaign about 10-20% of the time. Most of the time the enemy squad will be C or D flight. If it is A flight there will only occasionally be aces in it and all that is used is the generic wingman skin for that unit, a few of which I have done but most are originals done back in 2013 or earler. That seems to be the default for Campaign. Probably saves it some memory and helps keep the game speed up to not be generating all those extra skins.

Most of the time, if you're going to see ace skins it will be when you fly with that unit yourself. That's been my experience anyway and I occasionally go out hunting for these skins just to see if they show up, cause I like shooting at them.

They say that the greatest hunt of all is to draw the holes already on the skin and then see if you can hit them perfectly with your bullets! Mwuhahahaha!

My skin renaming mod doesn't touch Jerbear's skins. He corrects them himself,so there aren't any mis-names in there (I've looked). You can apply the mods in either order.
