Scoured my resources but to no avail. I know RAF HQ departed St. Omer in July 1918 but to where?

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

In October 1918, RAF HQ was located at St-Andre-au-Bois, just west of Hesdin. But they had established an advanced headquarters in a group of wooden huts abandoned by the Germans and located near Bapaume. There is a reference to it in RFC HQ by Maurice Baring at page 300.

Cheers,

Raine

Perfect!

Gen Rawlinson on a camouflaged Train at Montigny Farm, now Gen. Salmond in abandoned huts. What a war!
Red Tabs living rough at the end here.

Many thanks Raine.

Great Stuff Shredward. I've cut and pasted than into a doc but the info will undoubtedly be useful to others for future reference.

Thanks!
