I suspect that not too many players are au fait with the workings of the front-line system.
AFAIK all versions of EAW use a "frntline.dat" file with 20 front-lines in it (0 to 19)
This is our code:
What the code is doing for single missions is setting front-line 0 to be used if the selected mission year is 1940 or 1943.
If the selected mission year is 1944 then front-line 8 is used, and if the selected mission year is 1945 then front-line 12 is used.
These are the default settings. Only four of the twenty front-lines are used
In the code shown here there is a system to allow different front-lines to be used.
The exe looks for a file named "frontline.mpf", and if it finds one it reads it.
If the file reads as:
1
6
11
19
then:
front-line 1 will be used for 1940
front-line 6 will be used for 1943
front-line 11 will be used for 1944
front-line 19 will be used for 1945
Any player can try this out by making a text file with the four values (0 to 19) using notepad, then saving it as "frontline.mpf" in the root folder
Their four front-lines will be used in single missions.
This feature is not available in other versions of EAW
