We in Nfld have know that for a LONG time ...the sagas also say that it was warm enough to grow fruit there and there was hardly any arctic ice at the time.

I've known this since I was in junior high school. Nothing new here, move along.

The huge difference of course is that the Viking settlements were temporary and small-scale while the Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, French and British went in with all guns a'blazing! wink
