Got in from work a little after 11:00 am this morning and went to fire up my Legacy WinXP SP3.1 machine and...nothing! Wait! What?! It doesn't seem to be getting any power! Switched out power cords and tried a different electrical outlet...nothing! It seems to be the power unit, gonna have to order a new one I reckon. The only problem is: The PC is almost twenty years old and, it has all of my old games installed on it! I need this thing! Ya'll pray for me! I really hope I can find a PU for it!

Vince I've found around here when I needed parts for an older machine the shops are a good source for parts.Trying to order one online depending on the machine it might not have a standard mounting scheme.Like the HP machine I bought in April..I have several larger power supplies that just won't line up in it.Good luck !!

You've not thought of creating a backup of your hard drive? You can do that quite easily now with USB thumb drives.

Acknowledged Panz...I do not believe the hard drive is the culprit here, it is the power unit.
