to me crash and burn.......BF is DEAD.
the controls are awfull, vehicles move so arcadey, a civilian pickup not being affected by a recoil rifle in the face ??
the no class was controversial, now its just plain stupid, as sniper you can load ammo pouch and have infinite ammo, as medic you can load a lmg, med pouch, kevlar AND has self revive while carrying a rocket......how is that not broken ?
good luck [s]equalizing [/s equilibrating ]that.
im glad im boycotting EA, i wont miss this one bit. and they definitely did not have 128 players on the beta, it wasnt populated enough, the only time i saw crowding it was like 10 folks around me, but other places were empty, as capped bases remained so.

mini helo is frustrating to deal with, the slow to track lock, short lock distance, and the fact it moves so erradic (and i dont mean the desync, the actual flight model) makes it frustrating, so much that i started using the recoil rifle instead of stinger and had more sucess by eyeballing it.

i though the map was pretty boring and didnt feel that big like some are commenting but then again, im a pc player and maps on bf on consoles used to be smaller,
the only fun i had was,
killing a pesk sniper with a concrete slab on the face by launching my quad against it.
managed to snipe the pilot of the hokum r@ping our flag
and wiping 4 squads with a shotgun (1 squad 4 players) basically halting their assault by hunting them from behind and hiding in the jungle......it must be really frustrating to be killed with a shotgun in the open in this game....so that brough me immense joy.

wait for sale is my recomendation, i dont expect a miraculous turn in the final build.

edit: oh yeah, specialists are just dumb, hardcore mode is going to be a LOT of fun with the army of clones around and noobs.

I lost interest in the BF series sometime after BF Vietnam. That was around 2005 I think?

Eh, I liked Battlefield 1942, but every game after that I haven't been interested in. I tried some, but... full of hax, nonsense, forced leveling up, etc.

Does 2042 have leveling? How about locked weapons? Weapon skill ups?

The beauty of 1942 is there was none of that. You had a gun, grenade and maybe one other item and that was it. You were in control and responsible for your success and failure. How long you had played and what you had access to didn't matter because everyone could pick the same character class.

I view first person shooters as purely a skill-based venture, same as tennis, golf, pool or chess. Everyone should have the same equipment and there should be no artificial roadblocks to success.

Yeah, not interested.

In Quake there is a rocket launcher. This is our rocket launcher. "The deadliest weapon in the world is a Quaker and his rocket launcher. It is your killer instinct which must be harnessed if you expect to survive in combat. Your rocket launcher is only a tool. It is a hard heart that kills. If your killer instincts are not clean and strong you will hesitate at the moment of truth. You will not kill. You will become dead quakers and then you will be in a world of #%&*$# because quakers are not allowed to die without permission."
-- Quaker Sergeant Hartman.

There is only one rocket launcher. One railgun. And one nailgun. All quakers are created equal and can kill with equal impunity. Our weapons provide for us bountiful flesh from which we feast the spoils of victory. There is no other weapon. There are no other powers. There are ourselves and our weapon alone versus our enemy.

I don't like artificial playtime incentives.

Chivalry 2 lets you earn gold to buy armor and weapon appearances, but none of them change the function of how the weapon or armor operates. They have the same identical statistics at all times, so your skill alone determines your success.

You may not but game publishers certainly do! They unlocked the psychological urges that most gamers have by creating things like achievements, loot boxes and other micro-transactions which keep gamers coming back for more.

I find that amusing, Panzer, and you are correct, the typical human being is influenced by that kind of stuff.

For me the only thing that matters is my score in a game. All the rest is nonsense. And the more a developer puts in my way of achieving the score is more likely I am to avoid that game.

I'm only interested in trying to complete an objective within the game... I have no interest in 'levelling up' or any kind of score.
Completing an objective should be main emphasis, plus surviving of course. (coupled with great gameplay)

LOL a jornalist said this game was meant to be a battle royale and then they changed to battlefield elements midway.......it definitely shows..
i bet 10 bucks the only mode that everyone is waiting to have a proper battlefield will be one of the last things delivered, and problably half way
