They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

Some shots of my fifth mission under 609 Squadron (PR-S). This one was ultimately uneventful.

Hoping to spend some time on WOTR for a while and started off with a German campaign. Managed to bag a Hurri and a Spit. Remember to watch for the Hun in the sun guys!

Attached Files 1.jpg2.jpg

"A great deal of an aeroplane could be holed without affecting its ability to fly. Wings and fuselage could be—and often were—pierced in 50 places, missing the occupants by inches (blissfully unaware of how close it had come until they returned to base). Then the sailmaker would carefully cover each hole with a square inch of Irish linen frayed at the edges and with a brushful of dope make our aircraft 'serviceable' again within an hour."

Amazing pics as usual! #%&*$#, think it's time to shelve my other projects and start again with both the Reich and Flanders. I bought and moved to a new computer and lost all of my #%&*$# files and templates but have that itch and may have to start rebuilding my collection and trying to add a few. Keep up the work gents, this still puts others to shame for it's campaign and depth of story line.

Been experimenting in GIMP with some accurate roundels and camouflage tones. As I've said inumerable times before, the model is excellent and it really looks right. I am hugely anticipating the devlopment of the post-BoB Channel Front (1941-1944) as it's my favourite theatre of the air war.

Here's the 1942-1948 scheme. When later RAF aircraft come along this essentially confirms how good they'll look in the sim wink

A bug in the 109's cockpit model? There was no sliding panel on the upper side of the canopy so I don't think there should be a handle there?

[Linked Image]

This is a poor quality photo but there doesn't appear to be a handle

Ah that's very interesting! Glad to be wrong I presume it was something in E-4 production that was not carried into the E-7 and F models.

I'll be posting a lot more when I get into an RAF campaign. Loving the sim as always and eagerly awaiting more glimpses at what's to come in future updates!

Yes could be something like that but if anyone has data that says it should not be there I am happy to remove it.
Thanks Lythronax

Flying an RAF campaign with No. 74 Squadron as "Tam Maguire" at the mo. Already racked up 3 confirmed with only 2 hours of combat time. Made up a personal skin today using an unused code (ZP-S) and based on the camouflage scheme used by the squadron from May-July:

Love that B/W underside! Used from 1938 till July 1940, was then back in use from November 1940 till May of the following year; the Brown/Green scheme being replaced by a Green/"Mixed" Grey/Medium Sea Grey pattern in August of 1941, the "mixed" grey finally being replaced by Ocean grey in early 1942 - a scheme which stuck around until 1948 when it and the roundels were replaced entirely.

-

Additionally, I've put together some new generic skins which are looking very sharp.

Thank you very much! I'm hugely excited to see what's coming next, WoFF and WoTR are my go-to single player sims and have been for years now! Been pretty difficult getting by with only Brownings on the Spit however, I wonder when some more heavy hitting firepower might be available for our squadron wink
