SOLD - Thanks for looking smile

For Sale: Brand new Asus Prime Z390-P motherboard, brand new Intel i9-9900k CPU, and 32G matched Corsair Vengeance LPX low profile DDR4-3000 CL15 (8G x4 single-rank/Samsung chips; two 16G kits v4.32, each with sequential serial number modules).

I bought the CPU and motherboard at the local MicroCenter in January this year. Still have receipt and boxes. The RAM wasn't bought at the same time but was bought new, and has only been used in my own desktop. This setup was put together and has been run strictly for confirmation testing (no 'real' daily usage/no games except very limited testing), and has probably 100 power-on hours (if that) since it was first put together.

Due to an unusual set of circumstances, I wound up with two nearly identical MB/CPU sets, and I only need one. This is a chance to acquire very recent hardware which competes toe-to-toe and dollar-for-dollar with the most recent Intel platform offerings - at a substantial discount! The 9900k is a great overclocker and with proper cooling, these CPUs can get to (and sometimes over) 5.0GHz. The memory is comparable to higher frequency modules, as it runs a lower CAS level than most 3200 or 3600 RAM.

All hardware is from a non-smoking home, free of fur-bearing pets (we have birds, but they stay on another floor of the house). I haven't set an exact price yet, so I'm willing to consider offers. Shipping will be from metro Atlanta GA (sorry, lower 48 USA only please).

I can also offer GPUs that will complement such a build nicely, as well as NVMe storage if you're looking at more of a 'whole system' upgrade. I do have some PSUs though of course good ones are heavy and thus are costly to ship.

I have done many upgrade projects and builds for users across the country, here and over at the ED/DCS forum. I can gladly provide references if you wish.

Please PM me if you're interested or have questions.

Thanks 🙂

#4576450 - 08/03/21 09:55 PM PRICE LOWERED: F/S: Brand-new Z390 motherboard, 9900k CPU plus 32G RAM (USA lower 48) [Re: kksnowbear]

It's been a little while since I posted this, so I thought I'd update it.

First things first: Unless this post says otherwise, the parts are still available. I will be sure to mark this thread "SOLD" when that happens.

I've also done a little legwork since I first posted, since I noticed there were lots of views but only a few inquiries. I thought there may be a couple reasons for this, one being no pictures and the other being no price. So I decided to remedy that.

Pictures are easy; they'll be included in this post. Price is a little more difficult, but as I said I've done some legwork to get a good idea on prices.

New hardware (same components) - if you can find it new - runs about $735 (with any shipping and taxes at 6%). Used stuff that's complete (including I/O shield, M.2 screws/standoffs, etc.) looks to go around $620.

(UPDATE 9/26: I did some quick looking today and a comparable 11th-gen setup - 11900k, Z590 board, 32G DDR4 CL16 - runs ~$700 after any shipping taxes). I'm at $200 less for a very competitive, new condition setup (>28% less). Of course I realize there are some key differences in the two platforms, but this is a great way to get comparable performance at a much lower cost.

So I decided on $575, $500 shipped (US lower 48). Remember: The motherboard and CPU are both brand new, purchased about 6 months ago. The memory is 'like new' having only been used briefly in my own desktop at the time (which has since been replaced).

We're talking ~$235 less than the same new hardware (>30% off). And ~$120 less than even the going rate for used parts! (and who knows what condition the parts would be in if they were used...this motherboard and CPU are NEW)

If you're on super tight budget and concerned about cost, we can discuss less expensive options: 9700k (also new) instead of 9900k and/or 16G RAM instead of 32...PM me, we can figure something out.

We can also discuss a fully completed build; I can provide a chassis and other guts at excellent prices, or you can pick a chassis online, I'll include it at cost, build a system into it, and ship it to you. If you already have a good PSU and a chassis you like, perfect: Saves the cost of shipping a heavy/large package. If you need to upgrade your GPU and storage as well, I can help with those, too.

As I mentioned above, this setup competes very well, cost-for-performance, with more recent Intel platforms (10th- and 11th-gen) and many of the recent AMD platforms as well.

I appreciate your taking the time to look over this, and wish you each a good day 🙂

(Note: Pictures don't show it clearly, but that's pink anti-static foam, in case you wondered.)

Might have a buyer for you on this. My son is graduating from AIT next week and is wanting to build a new PC when he gets home. He will call us tonight and we can discuss this then.
