Stuck in Yankee land..ugh
S! All,
It's been a very, very long time since I posted anything on SimHQ. I don't even know how long it's been...a decade or more? Anyhow, can anyone provide some information for me concerning weights of each Anton variant?

The reason I ask this question is that I'm curious about the wing weight differences between the A1-A5 vs the A6. The A6 is noted on several websites, as well as, in many books to have a larger, stronger, and lighter wing. I can not found this specific information in any of my many FW190 books, nor can I find it online. I understand that the new and improved wing was in response to weight creep due to the variety of missions that the 190 performed. However, I would like to find how the lighter wing affected performance (speed, agility, etc) in a standard load out in comparison to earlier models, eg A5.

TIA,
HB

I’m not very much help. They say the wing was lightened and made stronger, but I can’t find anything on how that was achieved. Lighter and stronger is a difficult task. Stronger doesn’t necessarily mean more robust. On a combat aircraft that is critical. You can make a structure stronger by more precisely constructing interconnected shapes made of lighter material, but the problem is that if damage is suffered that complex structure can lose its strength. So lighter and stronger but maybe not more robust.

Sorry, but I can’t find anything specific on how the wing was restructured.
