@Allen...

Have you tried Solasta? It comes with a dungeon editor (in Beta). Not saying you can´t mod it but at least you already get tools for it from the getgo.

The very north of Germany
I have MSFS2020 installed but only put a few hours into it so far. Still have Il-2 CloD Blitz installed, but haven`t touched it in the last 2 years I think.

Currently I`m playing Stellaris.

Now that there's a dynamic campaign of sorts for DCS(Liberation), I'm a harrier pilot. smile

I consider Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen sims, too, despite being sci-fi, so despite not flying jets much of last year, I was still simming.

No flight sims in a couple of years. frown

On my second full play thru of my free COH2, well I paid a few dollars for the Rangers, great investment.

Earlier I played a lot of MSFS2020, then some Elite Odyssey, and finally some Steel Division 2.
Right now, after a ~30 years break, I started playing the mother of all strategy games again, chess.

I guess I will come back to MSFS2020 when the Germany/Austria/Switzerland update comes out, planned for late August.

Arma 3 (mostly vietnam with the great SOG DLC)

DCS with dynamic campaign engine, flying F-14 mostly.

Occasionnally Cliffs of Dover (the Oden dynamic mission)

No great battles lately, it's more enjoyable ith VR and it's too hot here for VR, will enjoy it next autumn/inter.

Thanks for the "head's up". No. I'll look into it. I do hope ME LE (ME2, ME3) will keep me busy RPG gaming for at least 100 hours of play over a few weeks or more (Summer and no COVID restrictions, so not gaming full time).

Ah, so I see the perception by Americans that many Europeans don't have AC might be true after all. biggrin

These are rough estimates but if you do every side mission available then it should take you about 45 hours to finish ME 1. ME 2 is considerably longer due to the many DLC's that were released for it. I believe it took me about 65 hours to finish ME 2 the last time I played through it.

It is true that many don't. Summer in Paris and anything northern can be hot during 15 days maximum, so most people won't have it in these areas.

Living in french riviera, I have it, but outside temps being in the 90\100 range, having AC delivering inside temp at 70 (maximum temp to appreciate VR for my taste) would give me a cold every few days going in and out , so I keep inside temp at 77/79, too hot for VR. When travelling to the US, even with temps above 100 I keep a sweater in a bag, to put it on when dining in restaurants. AC in the US is freezing.

Another thought:

Once one has played Elite Dangerous and particularly Star Citizen, the terrain in modern flight sims, DCS and the new Flight Sim included, looks really poor. Star Citizen's terrain when skimming the surface at 450 meters per second is unequalled in detail. And then you can land on it... and it is jaw dropping. So for those of us who like to do canyon runs, there's nowhere better to scratch that itch, unless accurate flight models are how we choose.

Yes, I would consider space flying sims to qualify as "sims" but since SimHQ is a website that was originally and predominantly built on discussing historical combat flight sims then I was curious to see how many members actually still played that genre.

I personally think that once you played Star Citizen, the rest of games look/feel poor no matter what smile2

Another matter is if you like it or not, but the quality that SC offers sets the bar very high to be honest.

I became a "born-again" flight simmer in November 2019. My initial burst of enthusiasm resulted in all sorts of new HOTAS and DCS modules. Honestly, I go back and forth between DCS and other games. Right now I am in the DCS upswing. The only issue with it - some people call it "button/cockpit simulator" and there is some truth to that. That once you learn a module getting fun things to do becomes challenging. I also have IL-2 that I need to spend some time with.

^ I think that´s with the new flight model, they use to be more rad with the older flight model!

DCS and IL-2 is where I have spent 100% of my flight simming time for the last couple of years. IL-2 just keeps getting better and better with all of the content updates and patches.

FWIW Mass Effect Limited Edition update:

ME2 storyline is good so far.

Figured out modding on ME LE well enough to make the couple gameplay changes I need (mainly, my pistol and sniper-rifle behave like real-life high-end firearms). Modding is slightly different for each of LE ME1, LE ME2, LE ME3.

Downside is the "busywork" (e.g. never ending Planet Mining) needed to upgrade equipment in-game. Planet mining, etc. I fixed by cheating (e.g. I just give myself the missing raw materials). However, I do visit and do a cursory check of every planet (and mine the ones with "high" raw materials). That pays off when a Planet unexpectedly (to me) has a Plot or Assignment item (I want to do all Plot and Assignment tasks in the game).
