Hi Gang,
Here are a few shots of my Falklands Islands Government Air Service Britten Norman BN-2 Islander. This aircraft was confiscated by the Argentinian Forces after the invasion of the islands in 1982. (I can't say 'commandeered' as I don't think they ever operated it.) As far as I can tell it was parked on a grass area at Port Stanley airfield, where it was destroyed during the fight to retake the capital. The Valom plastic is quite good for a shorter run kit, but I'm afraid I made a bit of a mess of it. I simply can't master painting large areas of white. I can't remember where I got the decals from, which is just as well. While they function nicely, their design is lacking and I had to purchase two sheets to get the correct length on the side stripes and those around the engine nacelles. I added some local wildlife sheltering from the rain to distract a bit from the model. If we ever go back to being able to attend shows I hope it will provide a little humour and colour. (Yes, there are wild rabbits on the islands, I checked before adding them
)
Thanks for looking in,
Gareth
