I think the Super Bowl of football/soccer would be the World Cup but I get what you mean. England last won the World Cup in 1966 when we beat West Germany 4-2

Seriously NFB, maybe you should look for another site to post your drivel? Could not agree more.

Perfect results on both sides of the pond. Messi gets his international trophy, finally, and good for him. England lose a tournament final on penalties, which is the natural order of things. Congrats to Italy, worthy winners. It's easy to pick it apart in hindsight, but I was firmly off the Southgate bandwagon throughout his tenure. Results however have been good, so what I saw seemed to have little actual effect. Managers own their substitutions, and get praised when they pay off, and rightly, should be criticized when they get it wrong. He got it wrong yesterday. Not that he could control those misses, but the fact remains he put on the players who lost the match. Heavy is the head who wears the big hat, and the buck stops with him. I knew he'd miss when watching twinkle toes run up to take his pen. Just awful, and the football gods are just passing judgement on his ridiculous prancing approach. They have decided, I am sure, that anyone taking a penalty in this manner is doomed to fail. Rashford will live out his life with this burden, as Southgate has since '96. Southgate, paying it forward. I think 300,000 Enlganders took the day off from work today. What to do?
No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!
