Happy Father's day Wango and to all daddies. That's a beautiful picture there with your Dad. My mother fried chicken for my father today and the sister and nephews came over and gathered round for dinner and a game at the table today.

I really miss my father. who passed away May Day 1993 at my age right now 58 from Lou Gherigs.

Today I got the most awesome fathers day gift an old guy like me can get. My son got married yesterday
and I became a Grandfather. Jaxon will be 3 next weekend and an awesome daughter inlaw.

Hoping they can all come out west and visit us by fall.

That sounds like a great Fathers Day you had.
I too lost my Dad early, he died in 1995 from Cancer, he was 48.
Having your own children definitely does take out some of the sting.
Enjoy being a Grandpa ! I hope to someday.

Yes, I remember that day. it was 1973 I believe, we went to the gravel pit and fired off some rounds, it doubled as a firing range (we lived on a Canadian Military base) , you can see Dads rifle in is left hand. And then we did some fishing.

If you have children, as I do, it is a bitter sweet day.

I reminded my wife of that same point, yesterday. I lost my father over a decade ago and hers is still living. And though she might be permanently disabled, I reminded her to cherish her father for some day she won't have him anymore.

My Dad died at 64, way overweight and with a small fortune of investments, but had not retired yet--though in retrospect, I wish he had. My Mom is well taken care of, but darnit, we'd trade every dime in to have him back, flaws and warts and all.

We're blessed we have our own daughter and I got to spend so much time with her yesterday.

Great photos indeed F4U. Just change the clothes a bit and add some Daguerreotype effects and the black & white pic on the lower right could be mistaken for an Old West saloon portrait. biggrin

True. And I've always thought that in the middle left picture he bore a striking resemblance to Stonewall Jackson.

Happy Fathers Day to every dad here. My 4 boys have spoiled me today. It is an honour to be a father, to get children through the early years to adulthood. My oldest has just signed up for the Army as an infantryman and I couldn't be prouder.

I am very fortunate to still have my father with us today. He is 93 years old. I think he is a perfect example of how a regular guy can be the greatest man you ever knew to his children. We had a big family get to together last night, and today we are taking him to his favorite RC field to do some flying. It's a hot one out there, so we got to keep it short. Happy Fathers Day to everyone at SimHQ. It sure is a special day.
