I have a technical problem.

After the drive failed, I replaced it with a new one. I reinstalled WoFF, entered the serial number, and installed patch 1.13.
The game works, I created a new pilot character. I choose a scenario. And then…
A board appears - LOADING, three characteristic dots and the message: "Game terminated prematurely".

Maybe the next Win 10 updates are to blame for this? While loading, there is an option to take game dumps or capture / record it (which was not there before). Could this cause a conflict?

You should have posted this under the Technical Issues thread up above for OBD to see this quicker.

Could be lots of reasons, but probably no DirectX 9 installed. See the WOFF BH&H II FAQ section 2A.

Problem has been solved.
After the last Win 10 update, I had a problem with the disk. Replacing, reinstalling the game ... Result - see above.

I have WoFF II. It turned out, however, that the problem is not with the simulation, but with Win 10.


I reached for advice on the WoFF forum.

1. Install MCFS 3
2. we install patch 3.1 to it
3.Let's shortcut MCFS 3 on the desktop - MCFS 3 "Run as Administrator"
4. Install WOFF II
5.We install patch 1.13 (or newer)

6.We install the latest Direct X from the Microsoft website
7. Install Microsoft Visual C ++ from the manufacturer's website in 64 bit version.

The simulation works for me with full settings.

That's good to hear that WOFF BH&H II worksnow.
In the future, if you ever have to do a full re-install WOFF BH&H II again from the beginning, it is not necessary to install MSCFS3. The WOFF will run without it.

Good you are working again Taal. Yes as Robert says you do not need CFS3 installing.

But the step 3, is what may have helped. Instead, just do

1. Uninstall WOFF first if it's installed and broken. See section 17 Of the WOFF BH&H II FAQ (found on our website Support page) for the correct way
2. Install WOFF BH&H II
3 Install patch 1.13 (or newer)
4 Install the latest Direct X from the Microsoft website Actually you can do this via our \WOFF\Toolbox\DX9Redist folder as this IS the correct DX9 files to use as it's the FULL release.
5. [optional not need for many people]; Go to where WOFF is installed, browse the WOFF folder as per section 54 of the WOFF BH&H II FAQ and ...
Set Cfs3.exe to run as administrator - to do this go to the \OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\ folder in the WOFF install and find cfs3 executable. Right click on it, choose Properties, Compatibility, and tick/check "run this program as administrator". Apply, OK.

The MS C++ runtimes are installed during the main BH&H II install.

My mistake was that I named the game WOFF II - the correct name is WoFF BH&H 2

However, I was surprised that there is no need to install CFS 3.

As I found out, the game had many modifications:

1. OFF1

4. OFF3 BH&H
5. WOFF1
6. WOFF2
7. WOFF3
8. WOFF PE
9. WOFF UE
10 WOFF BH & H2

You put that phrase in quotes to suggest it's word-for-word off the website, but we did not say it like that, and do not say you need to install it. Yes that was from when it was needed it to allow WOFF to install, which is no longer required - so I will remove it anyway.

Also just above that section we say in bold:

NOTE: You are required to own Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3 so you own a license legally. CFS3 disk is no longer physically required to install or play WOFF UE, PE, or BH&H II.

B / There was a problem - after the fight (Quick Combat) there was no summary of the game. Detriment. The WIN 10 screen has appeared.

But today I went on a mission, fought, shot down Nieuport 17. Squadron returned to the airport, landed.
I pressed CTRL + Q, then Enter, and .... blue WIN 10 reappeared.
I checked - this trip is not in my flight book.

Dropping to desktop usually means memory issue or CPU overheat.
See the FAQ section 6

Also try setting CSF3.exe and WOFF.exe to run as an administrator.

from section 17 of the FAQ:

13. For some Windows 10 users, try setting compatibility of WOFF.exe and CFS3.exe to Windows 7 SP1, or Windows 8/ 8.1. To do this go to your WOFF install folder, find WOFF and CFS3 executables. Right click on CFS3.exe and choose Properties, Compatibility, then under ‘compatibility mode’ section select/tick the box to “Run this program in compatibility mode”. Choose windows 7 for example, and click Apply, OK. Test, if it doesn’t help try setting to Windows 8 instead, or try the same setting on WOFF.exe.
14. if the steps in 13. do not work then undo the compatibility setting, but also try setting them to “run this program as an Administrator” instead from that compatibility tab, and click Apply, OK and test again.

I wonder if, for me, it would be easier to uninstall the game and reinstall it, omitting the unnecessary CFS 3? Maybe the program will be more stable because of this? After having problems with the disk, I only have one successful mission behind me. I will revive my flier from the file explorer.

After reading your text, I did it step by step as you wrote.
It turned out to be easier than I thought.
I checked the simulations in both Quick Battle and in two missions. Everything works fine - both manual and automatic.

One conclusion from this - read, read and read again! ( WoFW FAQ )
The fact that I am not from the English-speaking zone may be an excuse. Technical texts are a bit of an obstacle for me.
