So which "space themed" games are you currently playing? My top three right now are Elite Dangerous, Star Wars Squadrons and the Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

None at the mo. Most recent is Elite, but it's been two months since I last fired it up.

Before that it was Outer Wilds, which I only played briefly (and should return to). That's a space sort of game, in a different way.

I'd probably have to go back to last summer when i replayed Prey to find the next one.

A bit of No Man's Sky and the odd dip into E:D. I try out SC after every patch but until I can get a PC upgrade SC will have to go on the back-burner.

Star Citizen and Mechwarrior 5, if you can count that, and I think you not only can, but should.

I have been wrestling with the desire to buy Mechwarrior 5. I am irritated at PGI over how they handled the license in Mechwarrior Online, so I'm torn as to whether I give them more money or not.

What I enjoyed the most about the original Mechwarrior 2 and MW 2 Mercenaries games was the atmosphere. They oozed the stuff! Truly, one felt as if they were a part of the universe when playing the games--both in the 'mech seat, and out of when navigating the base screens. They were a complete experience.

Is MW 5 similar? Does it capture this feeling again?

Otherwise, besides Elite Odyssey which is great, I've gone medieval again and picked up my longsword in Chivalry 2 which came out last week.

I haven't played the original Mechwarrior, I came in around the time of MW3, Cyberstorrm, Iron Assault and Earth Siege. We were kinda spoiled with mech games in those days. Total atmosphere doesn't quite match some of those early and mid 90s gems. It's closer than most anything else out there these days though. There's a main screen that's modeled off off your desk. It'll let you acccess anything, or you can ignorre it and go to the bridge and the navigation station and assign your next destination. Walk to the mechbay to paint/repair/refit your mechs. And otherwise just access anything else by walking to it. Story is kinda meh, and the missions can be a bit repetitive after awhile. My biggest gripes are the mechs are a bit restrrictive and I can't assign way points or use the map to assign locations to my lance. Walking around the mechbay in first person and looking at the damage to your machines is kinda cool though.

I've taken a flyer on Dyson Sphere Program and am currently learning that. It's a factory program similar to Factorio or Satisfactory in which the goal is to build a Dyson Sphere around a star. No combat, purely a building/puzzle solving game. I'm finding it interesting so far. Very polished for an EA game too.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”

Mechwarrior 5, and Analog Earth. Cyber Ops although not sure if this one would count as space theme, it´s sci-fi me thinks.

Star Citizen is on hold as Iam lazy to configure my HOTAS again each time there´s an update, or at least since I last played it which has been awhile now..

I can handle Star Citizen every now and then, but after a while the 20 - 25 fps in places like New Babbage tends to grate on me.

Some folks complain that Odyssey looks terrible. I disagree.

ED: Odyssey looks fantastic.

It's just too bad that my frame rate performance takes a major nosedive when I'm in first person view. Bah, I'll be getting a new Alienware PC soon anyway.
