The discussion in a different thread about depressing games made me think of this scary? game. I noticed it while trawling Steam a couple nights ago. I was very impressed with the trailer I watched. Looks fantastic really. But I've always avoided scary games for the most part. Subnautica, Thief series and others I've played, but these are not horror games really. F.E.A.R was marketed that way and was a bit of a hackle-raiser anytime that little girl appeared. If I've played a R/E game it was 15 or 20 years ago I bet. Alien Isolation I have avoided, and so on and so on. But Village has me intrigued. Reviews on Steam are Overwhelmingly Positive. Many dismiss these player reviews but I don't. I still need to form my own opinion, but I find I often agree with the general consensus. And if it's anything other than pixel scrollers and the sort, an Overwhelmingly Positive review average is almost always an indicator of a great game. Has anyone played this? What did you think of it? Avoid story spoilers if possible please. Resident Evil Village on Steam

Can you give an example Lieste? I didn't expect a comment like yours. Did you play through the game?

I have not played it but I can tell you that to date only 3 games have given me REAL goosebumps,
1. Alan Wake
2. Alien Isolation
3. F.E.A.R.
Got F.E.A.R. and Alien Isolation... I'd agree one hundred percent with those two!

Or is it fourthed, as I also mentioned these games in the OP. I'm interested in Lieste's take on it, with him having played it, but maybe I'd like it based on nothing more than the fact I never play these sorts of games, and it will feel novel and unique to me. I don't know. Maybe wishlist it and wait for a sale. It looks fantastic graphically, and the fact that it's a horror game where the player is armed and has a chance to fight back is appealing as well. Not a closet hiding simulator.
