Yes it's a Sea Vixen, I had a mental block when trying to remember when first posting, all I could remember was 'DH 110' and the prototype's horrible crash at Farnborough, killing and injuring many spectators.

Another pic, with some different aircraft from the same, classic era:

Nice pics 33lima. What jet is in the second pic? Was it the Electric or something like that?

That's an English Electric Lightning... I used to watch them take off, stand on their tails and go straight up to 36,000ft in under 3 minutes!
Used to intercept Russian bombers coming into UK airspace during the cold war.

Great pics 33lima. I always loved the MD Phantom II F4. I remember from my childhood, maybe 8 or 9 years old, climbing in the intake and squeezing down through the engine housing and coming out the tail engine housing area. LOL Obviously the intake door and engine were removed on this static display, but hey not every kid can say he has done that. Anyway, I have a Revell Monogram model of the black Playboy Phantom II F4 assembled in a box somewhere in the closet. Always loved that jet. yep

Edit: I am interested to know what the addon red/blue checkerboard section is on top ot the rudder in the last 2 pics? Inquiring minds want to know!
