Afternoon chaps,
I remember there was a download that enabled you to link your careers in EAW... Is that still around? Or is there an updated version?
Ta much

For example in the HillGenerator folder I have dosbox.exe, dosbox.conf, SDL_net.dll, SDL.dll. I edit dosbox.conf to put these lines at the end to mount (as a drive) the Main EAW folder (which contains my EAW utilities folder where DOM's Hill Genrator lives), move to that mounted drive, and then to start the Hill Generator programme: mount E C:\1-EAW E: cd EAW-Ut~1\DOM\HillGe~1 Hgv2_0 Note that long folder names have to have their DOS aliases so "EAW-Utilities" is "EAW-Ut~1" I have also edited dosbox.conf so that the programme starts in a window. Run dosbox.exe and this is what you get:

DOM's Hill Generator works on the original .tm file, which is what I am working on in the MP map editor. When it is done, it then easily convertible to eaw32.tm The converter works on 3dz files, which are common to all versions. I have got the converter to run under DOSBox by installing DPMI support i.e CWSDPMI.EXE (google to download) is in the folder and in dosbox.conf the final lines now look like this: mount E C:\1-EAW E: cd EAW-Ut~1\DOM\Gridcalc CWSDPMI.EXE -sE:\EAW-Ut~1\DOM\Gridcalc\cwsdpmi.swp conver~1.exe The -s switch on CWSDPMI.exe sets up the memory swapfile. It all unloads when you exit DOSBox. It runs fullscreen (but alt-Enter reduces it to a window) and you can enter the names of the files to be converted:

Well, that's something good.
I think some of the other .dat files for campaigns, careers, squadrons and such are a different size. Which if them, I'm not sure, but I know the flight models are different and Jel developed a method of mixing early and late versions.
Maybe he'd have to do the same with other .dat files too.
Heck, even paranoids have enemies.
