Hello

A / If I'm on a reconnaissance mission, do I need to see it when flying over a target? Are the clouds an obstacle for me? In such a situation, do I have to go back there again, for example by lowering the flight or circling, looking for a "hole" in the clouds?

B / What conditions do I have to meet in order for the mission to be completed - shouldn't the evidence be a clear sight of the target or, even better, a photo of it, or is it enough if I cover the yellow section of the route several times?

This is very important in my opinion. Otherwise, I can, for example, fly for a long time in the middle of a cloud. I can't see anything, but they can't see me either. I will definitely return safely to the airport. But what's the point ...

I am aware, of course, that WoFF was developed as an air combat simulator. It is difficult to expect creators to meet all our expectations. We know, however, that during this period, reconnaissance flights were the most important task of aviation. This was what the army demanded all the time! Fighter planes appeared only to prevent the opponent from looking at our cards.

greetings

I've seen similar things in my 2 seater campaigns (e.g. bombing blindly through clouds). I haven't looked in detail about what weather information is available in the Mission Editor. Does it know what the cloud layer altitude is? If so, it would be possible to adjust the mission altitudes to be below the cloud cover.

The condition you need for a mission to be completed is 'land your plane and survive'. A mission is never 'not completed'. But I think perhaps you mean 'completed successfully"?

As far as I know, all WOFF cares about is if you reached the 'target' location. You get that message in the debrief about 'x' aircraft successfully reached the target area. Others may have more info.

I simply role-play what a real pilot would do ... make sure to stay the full time, make sure the observer gets to see the area by flying as low as needed, doing a thorough coverage of the area, etc. Maybe some day all of that will be programmed into the game but for now I just put in the difficulty myself.
