That's the most Star Citizen thing I have read all week Count me among the disbelievers. Shame that, had high hopes. Can't see ever giving them a dime now though. Never (say) never.

Haha, I was just having a laugh. And good zinger you got in too. Here's what I wrote in a post on a different board full of CIG supporters "By the end of this year, backers will have everything they originally pledged for, plus alot more."- Chris Roberts (2015) It's coming up on Q2 (checks calendar) 2021. Is anyone signed up for the Squadron 42 Beta? “This year we will finish [SQ42],” Roberts said in 2017 ‘Squadron 42 will be done when it is done, and will not be released just to make a date,’ says Chris Roberts https://www.polygon.com/2020/12/28/2...esting-funding"I have decided that it is best to not show Squadron 42 gameplay publicly, nor discuss any release date until we are closer to the home stretch and have high confidence in the remaining time needed to finish the game to the quality we want,” Roberts added. “My hope is that you’ll be so engaged in Star Citizen that Squadron 42 will be here before you know it.” Nice work if you can get it. What a mess.

The guy is brilliant! Hundreds of millions of dollars for what?!? And people line up to buy more.....
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

I bought in with the cheapest package, with a small upgrade to the Avenger Titan later.
The game is no longer playable for me. As the game has improved the requirements have obviously gone up. It's just a stutter-fest. I know that may improve if I get away from the main areas but I just can't be bothered.
My planned hardware upgrade was scuppered by current shortages so I just sit and wait.

Some time after making my last post above I regretted it, as it really adds nothing to the thread. It's how I feel, but out of place here. If folks are enjoying it, who am I to spoil it? So apologies for that. I'm free to post whatever I want, but this just feels petty.

New Babbage is by far the worst running of them all. As for the requirements, you need an SSD and should have at least 16GB of RAM. If it's on a mechanical drive it will take forever to load and run like crap when it does.

So apologies for that. I'm free to post whatever I want, but this just feels petty. No worries. I and many others get some fun out of it, but it is definitely the poster child for delays and feature creep and it's completely understandable some of the reactions from early backers.

I'm running an i5-6600 (non K) so that may be it then. I bought it at the end of 2015 and it was hardly cutting edge then.

Thanks for that tip wormfood,I'll try it out. Hopefully it works for you, it does for most people. The destroyer I toured in Star Citizen today felt awfully spacious compared with the many US WW2 Warships I have camped on and toured. There weren't even triple bunks! Every video game has that problem. Hallways and rooms have to be larger because of collision and animation issues. Even Kingdom Come Deliverance, for all they tried with realism, had to make all the buildings larger and more spacious so the player and NCPs can move around...and they still get stuck. Just look around in almost any FPS game, those hallways and doors are wide and there's always tons of room around furniture, unless it's placed there to stop you.
