Since EFT has a on going sale right now, and some of you might have already bought and/or upgraded the game with this sale, I thought it would be a good Idea to post some help/guides...
Good time to upgrade to the "Left Behind" edition from the Standard edition.
- Copy your EFT folder and paste it in a new directory (I used a different hard drive). Copy whats inside of the downloaded mod folder (SPT-AKI v1.30) and past it inside your new EFT folder.
- Run the Server EXE (don´t close it), then run the Launcher EXE. found in your new EFT folder. You might be prompt to download and Install windows runtime desktop (.NET), choose x64 if running W10. Once you launch the launcher, it will prompt you to create a user and a password, choose anything you like, you will also need to choose what version of EFT to play. That´s it!
Just in case, here´s a generic Install guide/video from a older version...
Have fun!

Trying to learn my way around the 'Customs' map at the moment... difficult to navigate without even a compass, and having to alt/tab out to check a downloaded map. Pain in the backside!

Yeap, no hand holding in EFT
Make sure you unlock (search) all the items from the dealers too. That will give you some free XP, and you will get familiar with what each dealer has to offer and it´s uses.

Yes, done the dealer searching, thanks for that But this is hard!... lol! And why is there a time limit when you enter the maps... that's the most annoying part. You just don't have time to find out where you are and make your way to an extraction point. Is there a mod that cancels out that time limit?

The Idea is to know the maps well. Learn one, then move to the next one. Once you learn a map, and it´s extraction points it then becomes more enjoying in that sense. I don´t know of a mod for the timers in each map, I know that they cut down the time a bit on each map but that´s about it.
Click on the map you want to learn then it will show you the extraction points. A car running, or a light source in a shed etc. are indications of a extraction point.
Dropped into the 'customs' area around Tarkov. Right from the start you are on edge... no idea where the enemy may be. Scav Raiders are loose in the area and are already picking people off. You have to find an exit point, you have no compass, no waypoints to follow, scavenge or loot anything you can as you try to find a way out. Tension is high along with a deadly threat that can kill you at any moment... Can I make it out?
This is Escape from Tarkov... at times brilliant, challenging, yet frustrating and will have you on edge from the minute you start your raid. I'm new to the game, still not sure what I'm doing, using a downloaded map from the internet to try and navigate myself to an extraction point which is always at the other end of the map from where you started.
No compass, no waypoints, when you look at your map you are vulnerable. When you are searching a body or equipment you can be picked off at any minute... If you are giving yourself first aid it takes time, and again you are extremely vulnerable.
This is no run and gun shooter... be prepared to be killed, a lot! The odds are always against you, and yet, I keep coming back for more punishment...
Have to say though, applying first aid during a fight is usually where I get killed, as there is no quick fix when you are wounded. Searching a body takes time, going through pockets and equipment, examining items to see if they are worth taking... all the time you are in constant danger of being surprised and killed.

Nice one Trooper! My guess is your playing live now? None solo. Just a thought, I would have swapped that blue UN helmet for the one you looted. That blue color stands out just too much to be unseen. Do need to speed up your looting and reduce your exposure time. As you stated, when looting and healing you need to do it as fast as you can as you are exposed.
I need to Install this on my other PC (sig) but I need another SD drive, which I hope I can buy soon.
Keep em coming and thanks for sharing Dave

Thanks Yes, that was 'live' play, but still going offline to try and get my head around the maps. I'm not bothered about earning money from looting really, but need to get into my head where the extraction points are for any given map. That way, at least I stand a chance to progress... at the rate I'm going, I'll only have a bloody knife to go on a raid with.
Today the 'Big Wipe' arrives... everyone's progress is set back to zero and it all starts from scratch again, not that I had much to loose as it happens

Yes, and it´s a good start as everyone starts from scratch so no one is ahead gear wise.
