That is likely a false positive. Many people have already downloaded it without their AV application detecting malware. What AV are you running?

A false positive called up often by the exe shortcut included in some packages of JJJ's excellent Mission Ed. Recommended, if you don't want to wrestle with your AV program and the exe shortcut, is to download the version of the Mission Ed. that does not include that shortcut (available at the following link).
EDIT: While the CombatAce link I've provided works nicely, for the non-exe shortcut ver. of the Mission Ed., the link at the third-party hosting site - most likely to the ver. with the exe shortcut, and located in the first post of this thread - is currently broken (Oct. 2, 2021).
Cheers all and happy WOFFing, Von S

~ For my various FM/AI/FPS/DM Mods. for First Eagles 2, WoFF, RoF & WoTR, and tips for FlightGear, recommended is to check over my CombatAce profile (https://combatace.com/profile/86760-vons/) and to click on the "About Me" tab while there. ~
Download link in first post fixed - thx to VonS for heads up. New download available also HERE. Version without exe and shortcut files ("antivirus friendly") available HERE.

I'm just using the default that came with Windows 10. Tbh I'm not worried about the risk of infection, more that Windows won't even let me access the file.
I'm using the non-exe version - am I missing anything?

Only the exe shortcut that may be stickied to your Windows taskbar - but if that is not a major inconvenience for you, then you are not missing anything. Everything else is there that is supposed to be there even in the non-exe package of JJJ's marvelous Mission Editor.
Cheers all and happy mission editing, Von S

I have it not in use at the time, but the last version 2.0 has been made for BH&H2 and the last WOFF-update 1.37 is from 02.2023, almost 1 year now. Because there are enough user, who use the mission editor, I'm sure, we would have known about problems with 1.37 long ago IMHO.
